RE: Verbolten

I know I'm late to the party but, ride review post incoming in 3...2...1:

Alright, so I've managed to get three rides in on Verbolten (2 of the different "storylines" [wolf and spirit]) and here's what I have to say about it....I like it. It's not amazing, and it certainly isn't original, but it's fun. It's like Thirteen + Revenge of the Mummy = Verbolten, which isn't a bad combination. Even though I have a lot of nostalgia towards the Big Bad Wolf, I can say that this is a suitable replacement. The drop track is pretty cool, it gets in a nice jolt before the final run up.

So my final verdict is that Verbolten is a really fun ride that has plenty to offer. It's not the best of roller coasters (Hell, it's far outside my top 10), but it definitely goes on my "must-do" list every time I visit the park.

With that said, I have a question, and I apologize if this has been asked before. Will Verbolten run during the fireworks show when Illuminights rolls around? It does sit pretty close to the railway bridge.

RE: Verbolten

Ima leave this here..... http://www.injuryinformation.com/injuries/concussions.php

I'm sorry, but even if it did happen, it's not that big of a deal (If this is true, it was a type 1). Take some pain killers and walk it off. I'm willing to bet this happens more than people think on ANY rollerocaster, it's just when you go to facebook blasting something with a serious twist on the scary side and claiming the doctor treats Vbolt injuries ALL THE TIME that makes me call BS.

Also want to add, "It was really scary for all of us." doesn't help the cause either. Girl gets a bad headache and the world turns upside down... Atlantis and myself can post stories of scary concussion/head injuries, but I wont derail this thread any further.

Not saying it's as big of a deal as she's making it out to be, but from what I know about her, I find it very unlikely that she's making it all up.

Flyer, I passed your question along to someone who might be able to answer it. If so, I'll get back to you with an answer.

RE: Verbolten

that lady is the mother of those 2 kids that post millions of pics of them at the park....seems like more attention seeking to me...

My understanding is that none of the coasters run during Fireworks.

I got to ride AC during the fireworks a few years ago. My brother and I waited in the single rider line for the right moment to ride and it was one of the best rides I have ever had. It was very cool seeing them from above.

RE: Verbolten

Is it possible that the Monday/Tuesday closing of VB was connected to this injury? Anybody know if it's running today?

RE: Verbolten

I'm sure the Monday/Tuesday closing wasn't connected to the injury. The red train has been stuck in the event building the past 2 days, I do not know about today, though. I'm sure that they're not connected at all. They could be redoing the launch to start when the back of the train finishes the small drop while they wait for the new parts IF they are needed.

RE: Verbolten

According to the park's FB page it is.

Only thing I don't find believable about that mom's post is the fact she claims the doctor treats multiple folks a day for injuries suffered on Verbolten. That's simply a fabrication.

I imagine it was a fabrication by the doctor though. Believe it or not, I've been to a doctor who said something very similar about injuries during Howl-O-Scream and how he treats "3 to 5 a week".

RE: Verbolten

1. Anybody here know the date/time of the decision to take down Verbolten Monday & Tuesday?

2. Anybody here know the date/time of the Facebook-stated concussion trauma?

3. Anybody here have good data on the up/down percentages of Verbolten? Those claiming "down more than up" seem to be way off the mark. Anybody know?

4. In a ride where an abrupt launch is preceeded by a visual display which entices the rider to lean forward, look left, look right, etc., wouldn't this conflict with instructions to keep the head back against the rest? And is this the case in the Event Building on Verbolten?
