too bad it doesnt look like they replanted that many back, especially around the final drop.

RE: Verbolten

I rode it again yesterday twice. Once as the park opened, and once just before closing. I like it just as much as I did before. I know that the ride is indoors so it seems like it shouldn't matter, but I think it's a lot cooler at night. I also much prefer the ride in the front; the experience is completely different.

I didn't tell my two friends about the drop track and that led to some funny reactions including a very loud expletive and looking wildly around in awe at what just happened. Also does the entire structure the moonbox is on rotate? My second ride was in the third row, and I didn't have to look for the moonbox like I thought I would. It was right there, and it also seemed to be facing in a different direction than I remember. Does it rotate with the car as it moves through the last part of the helix? It's the only reason I could think to explain it's different position when moving from the front of the train to the back. Or I'm crazy. One of the two. I guess I will just have to do the Verbolten tour to find out. ;)

Also, they will almost never give estimates for downtime because often times they don't know, and the other times, as my friend explained, if they say "about 15 minutes," then you just basically just signed a contract in blood that states the ride will be up in exactly 15 minutes, and when it's longer, guests complain.

RE: Verbolten

there is a lighting gobo that moves and that is what you see moving... I believe it switches back and forth with each color (white and blue)... and all of the rides will not give time estimates during ride shutdowns

RE: Verbolten

Some actual news!! Verbolten Insider Tour dates are now available! The first day is this Wednesday (6/13/12) at 8:30 am. Being that I won two tickets to any insider tour at Busch, I will most likely be there :D

EDIT: I found out that I was looking at the wrong thing :( Hopefully they will start doing the tours soon.

RE: Verbolten

I hate the GPs reaction to this downtime. It's like they are even more critical if the park and new rides now, I wonder why?

They might be critical because it is unacceptable.

I don't agree with Atlantis often, but I sure do this time. A few hours, half a day, etc. are acceptable. This isn't. This isn't normal for a new ride. Don't think it is.

I was at the park today and the red train was in the event building all day. All the other trains were in storage or maintenance. Yellow still hasn't moved.

RE: Verbolten

Griffon was up and down all through its opening weeks but no more than a half hour tops at a time and a limited number of times per day. Apollo did not have these opening issues nor Alpen. Heck, even Cheetah Hunt which is built by the demon company that is known for nothing but breakdowns has not had the extended downtime as Bolt. Two new attractions back to back and right beside each other constantly going down in not good nor acceptable nor fair to the park's guests.

RE: Verbolten

It certainly doesn't bode well for the future of the park when it's newest showcase of the direction they wish to travel in is non-functioning most of the time...

RE: Verbolten

Sucked that when I went with a CoasterForce on Sunday, with quite a few fellow Brits, Verbolten was down for quite a while. We got one ride in but it would have been nice for everyone to do it a few times as it really is a reridable experience.

But, I honestly don't think this is unusual downtime for a new coaster, especially one of this complexity. I can't speak for how Busch has performed with past new rides, but I certainly expect all new coasters to have teething problems. Besides, every time I've visited, I've got on it at least once.

Its ashame they spend all this money on this ride, and its been broken down more than it has been open. This is definately the best ride in the park (my opinion) but its going to hurt their business in the long run if they dont get this problem fixed. Because its very irritating when people want to ride this new ride and everytime they try to its broken down. It will just stop some people from coming. Except me ;)

RE: Verbolten

I consider it extremely unfair to compare this coaster's downtime to any other coaster in the park. This thing is just packed with moving parts and many things that can go wrong. It is also full of new and untested long term technology. AC, Alpen, and Griffon are coasters that when they were built were yes firsts of their kind or close to it but were in the end just bigger versions of coasters already running, so there weren't many problems because those who built them knew what to expect and thus prepared for those problems. For Verbolten, it is a whole new ball game.

I'm giving this thing a year before I start getting upset over downtime.
