RE: Verbolten

Just to be clear, I have no problem with the ERT being switched to Apollo's Chariot. In fact, I was actually sorta glad it was. Giving us just over 20 minutes when an hour is advertised is ridiculous though. All it comes down to is not providing what was advertised or even a suitable replacement for what was advertised. I have a friend that drove 3 hours from DC for the Verbolten ERT today. He wasn't mad that it was switched to Apollo. He was mad that they took almost 40 minutes of it away.

Heck...like I said before...I would MUCH rather have ERT on Apollo's than Verbolten. However, the timing is a big issue for multiple issues. I know it is a new ride, but guests have to be getting angry with the issues on both of the parks newest rides. Now they are also going to start disappointing season pass holders too...not good.

It is probably the fact that Verbolten can't handle the Kingda Ka launch forces...oh wait...we won't go there again. lol

Did you like it better then the mummy or rock n roll? nobody didn't answer this question yet LOL. I keep hearing it's "like" them, but haven't heard directly where v-bolt ranks with those 2 great coasters in florida. thanks!

I personally preferred both Mummy (Orlando) and Rock n Roll more than Verbolten.

I'm a writer for Theme Park Tourist, and recently had the chance to visit Busch Gardens to ride Verbolten and posted my review online if anyone would like to read it. I should hope you all will agree with much of what I said. ;)

Florida's Mummy is a fantastic, fantastic ride, and as a complete experience, I'd rank it above Verbolten. But the extra attention to detail paid to Verbolten in a seasonal park setting and the three "destinies" (which is what my friends and I referred to them as, fresh of off a trip to Disneyland's Indiana Jones Adventure) makes it stand out.

Verbolten is, without a doubt, my favorite roller coaster now. That's not to say there aren't better experiences and attractions, just that I'd easily say Verbolten is my favorite. (Confusing?)

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is fine, but it isn't even on my top twenty.

So there, that answers your question! :p

RE: Verbolten

Finally got to ride verbolten today, I rode it 6 times and it was amazing! Deffinately alot faster than I was expecting. It's now my favorite roller coaster, and I didn't think a single part of it was "rough" I'd give the ride a 9.5 out of 10!

RE: Verbolten

Honestly, I find them very hard to compare as well. Mummy is, by far, the better darkride but Verbolten is the better coaster in my opinion. Mummy has a better queue yet Verbolten has a better story. I prefer Mummy's trick-track (turntable and track switch) over Verbolten's drop track, but Verbolten's launches are considerably better than the Mummy's. I guess I'd say they're about even as far as the overall experience goes. If you're judging by just the darkride sections, Mummy has it. If you're judging by the coaster itself, Verbolten has it.

RE: Verbolten

Idk how accurate this is, but this lady by the pictures for verbolten said it be 2 weeks untill they get the ride video

RE: Verbolten

I rode Verbolten for my first time the other day. I had seen POV’s, I had looked at reviews, but nothing can give you the feel that is actually given in the event building. It was truly an amazing experience. When I was on it with my friends, they said afterwards the the drop track inside the event building caught them by surprise. We got Spirit both times we went on it. Hopefully when I go in July our group can get Wolves. I was looking forward to it.

RE: Verbolten

My friend rabidly preferred wolves over the other two. It's easily the darkest and disguises the track the best. My favorite is spirit just because of the oddly calm atmosphere, really as if it's "lulling" you into the branches. That said, thunderstorm is really awesome, too.

And you're right that POV videos can't capture the immensity of the ride experience. That's why in the review I linked to earlier, I was really taken aback by how there are full-sized, floor-to-ceiling set-pieces with dramatic, timed lighting. The POV videos make it look like it's just flashing blacklight cutouts like Revenge of the Mummy when it's so, so much more. I think I'll be sad when the building stops smelling of fresh paint, though. :\ Maybe they could pump in the "forest" / "old pine" smell like the E.T. dark ride or Soarin' Over California.
