Verbolten ha closed down last night and the people in line still got to ride. The last riders were getting off around 11pm
So, you are sayin that Verbolten close right when the park close which is at 10pm. This means someone can get their last ride in right when the park is closing.

as long as you're in line when then close, then you still get to ride.
I know that Busch follows that rule in the past. I just wanted to check. Since, some parks reserved the right to cap the line before the park closing time on new attractions.

RE: Verbolten

Do the effects change every time you ride? Of the 7 times I rode on Thursday, the effects seemed to change...red wolf eyes, green wolf eyes, face in the front, no face in the front? Then when I rode again on Friday, there were sound effects (or atleast louder ones) on the drop drack section and on the bridge?

Not Sandra....they were 3 trains behind me....and they waited in line like everyone else....not so sure Sandra would! ;)

RE: Verbolten

A couple weeks ago, Busch Gardens hosted a contest to win entry into the park's VIP event for Verbolten. Living in Hanover, PA (about a four hour drive from the park), I entered the contest on a lark and was shocked to find out I had one (well, I was one of 25 winners). Anyways, the event was this last Thursday (the day before opening day) snd I thought I would share some photos from the event. There have already been plenty of reviews on the ride and I'm sure there are many who don't want any surprises to be spoiled, so I'm going to mainly keep this post focused on the party and less on the ride (though I thought the ride was GREAT and a perfect replacement for Big Bad Wolf). Anyways, onto the review.

I was able to invite one guest, so naturally, I invited my wife. We were instructed to enter via the employee entrance and were ultimately directed to a parking lot pretty far back on the property. We took a tram around the back of the park (you could see the backside of DarKastle which was pretty cool) and were dropped off at the top of a red carpet that lead to a giant Verbolten logo where they were checking in guests. Upon check-in, everyone got a game card that was good for up to three games plays (they had two games open).

Once in, the first thing we noticed was the live band (which was great!), but then, you couldn't help but notice how many entertainers the park had out! Dozens upon dozens of team members dressed in the German garb just walking around and making sure everyone was happy. They came up to you just to talk, they came up to you to see how you were doing, and they came up to dance with you if you were with the band, just overall, AMAZING! Seriously, I would estimate that there was about 1 team member working the event for every 2 or 3 guests, it was such good service!

And the food... wow! Being that it was Busch Gardens, I knew it would be good, but never knew it would be this good! They had various food stations set up representing each of the different countries around the park (an Italy station serving pasta and chicken Parmesan, a Germany station serving pretzel wrapped hot dogs/sausage, a New France station serving pulled pork and baby-back-ribs, etc) as well as three drink stations a variety of options (sodas, wine, beer, and a special cocktail called the Verboltini [vodka, triple sec, and cranberry juice]) all free and all you could eat/drink. Amazing selection of deserts too.

They opened the ride by about 6 pm (the party started at 5:30) and the ride was a walk-on all night. The park president spoke as well as a state representative (I believe, don't remember his name), but the rest of the guests were a who's who of coaster club presidents, Busch/Sea World park GM's, and other members of the media. (Having had Six Flags America as my home park for several years, it was great to see Terry Prather at the event... Terry was the GM of SFA for a few years before moving to be GM of Sea World Orlando where he is now).

The party went on through the night. In the end, we ended up getting 14 rides (7 wolf, 5 storm, and 2 spirit.. all four trains... front, back, middle...) but we could have easily had 40 if we really wanted (it was walk on all night and they would let you stay on if no one else was in your lane). I must say, the ride was even cooler at night as there is essentially no lighting on the outdoor portions which make for a VERY dark ride! They were handing out unlimited on-ride photos which allowed us to get several well staged pics.

On the way out, we got some icing on an already delicious cake... a "swag bag" containing a t-shirt, window sticker, note pad, car shaped pen, key chain, and pin.. all Verbolten themed of course. It was an amazing end to an amazing event.

The moral of the story is... if you have the opportunity to go to a Busch Gardens VIP event, do not take the opportunity for granted! If they ever have another contest to go into a VIP event, you can be certain I will be all over entering!

Now, onto the part you actually care about, the pics!

RE: Verbolten

Totally agree w/ what CoasterLvr says! My wife was invited bc of social media and I was able to go as the "and guest". They really know how to throw a party! My wife said that we should go to BG when they are closed more often lol. It was amazing and so is Verbolten, we rode it about 11 times that night and after the sun set the ride was even better with little exterior lighting and the headlights shining on the track. It was amazing!

Have to agree with you. All VIP events are normally fun to go to.

BTW, CoasterLvr welcome to the other forums that I belong too. I also use the user name Coasterwill on SFAFans.com.

RE: Verbolten

From the pictures an description, this event looks to be like everyone is there and very VIP. All other events I went to were okay but not like this. By the way, the giant V is still sitting by the Festhaus ;)

A friend checked up on those shirts and told me that they were ordered to be taken out without any reason. When I mentioned the movie poster, they replied that it can't be proven.

Maybe not from what they know.

Trust me, they were pulled due to copyright issues. ;)

RE: Verbolten

Well, if they pulled the shirt, what are they going to do about the fact that they use the same image for the "Spirit" sequence? Just ignor it because it isn't on long enough for anyone to realize they are the same? Turn off the element all-together and change it when the park goes back to weekend operations? I know none of us will have a deffinitive answer to this question, but it will be interesting to see what happens...
