RE: Verbolten

Pehaps they are done with the testing save for putting butts in the seats. Now I am debating coming up to the park this weekend if all I am gonna see is nothing.

RE: Verbolten

It wouldn't surprise me if there are effects/controls/electronics in the building with small clearances to the track (and therefore can't be worked on when the trains are moving) that need adjusting or testing for events other than the train approaching.

What does this all sound like? First a crash, now effects have to be adjusted/replaced. Hmm, I wonder Mach Tower. I would seriously not be suprised if this ride does not open on the 18th. Just my 2 cents...carry on...

RE: Verbolten

Verbolten has nothing to do with Mach tower, just bc Mach tower had problems and opened late doesn't mean verbolten will, I'm 95% positive it will open may 18th.

RE: Verbolten

Mach Tower was a prototype ride, by a new company, that mixed with one mistake created a dominoe effect of issues.

Verbolten is not a prototype, this company has made coasters before and has made a good one or two, so they know a little bit more of what they are doing, this helped get them through the issues they have had so far. Plus with a counter on their site, I am sure they are going to open.

I hate when people compare the two rides and assume things will repeat especially when it happened for a first time, it's like one late ride opening and the park has a bad reputation for opening rides late.

RE: Verbolten

Guys I know this is late but I got invited to the party! But I can't go, so my uncle's probably gonna go... if not maybe one of y'all?

RE: Verbolten

In sorry if it seemed I was personally attacking you. It was directed to the fact people keep being up Mach tower when they can't judge the park on just one ride.

I really am sorry if I offended you.

RE: Verbolten

Is Media Day the morning of the 17th and the VIP Event that evening? IS BGW still looking for people to ride on Media Day? If so, how does one volunteer? (Just trying to work any angle I can to get a ride before the GP.)

Ya know, I think the best comparison that can be made with Verbolten is to Expedition Everest, in terms of what it's offering as a complete package.

God helps us if we end up with a Disco Yeti somehow because somebody "over engineers" the show building...creating an animitronic that can't be fixed, in a park that can't handle not having a crowd eater running for an extended rehab...not that AK isn't a half day park on a good day anyway. Amazing to think that now SWE will top Disney Imagineering if Verbolten turns out to be the hit I think its going to be. Oh how the mighty continue to fall!

Verbolten is more of a prototype than Mach Tower was.

The only thing new about Mach Tower was the ...rumbling, or whatever the hell it does, at the top of the tower. There are others which are otherwise exactly like it. Moser are not a new company, they have made hundreds of thrill rides. There drop towers and bouncers are everywhere. There's one at BGA.

Verbolten however... Zierre's first freefall drop coaster and only their second major coaster. First freefall coaster in the world with launches.

It's not the park who are making things late, It's the obscure manufacturers they keep going to who don't have that much experience with the ride type they are asking for, after years of going to the one company who don't ever make a mistake. So it just looks kinda bad after such a good previous record. That's all.

The opposite thing happened at Thorpe Park when they finally went back to B&M. Whilst Swarm has had some problems (all coasters, especially new ones, do) it's been no where NEAR like Saw, Stealth and their two most recent flats by S&S were with downtime. Saw's opening day was an absolute disaster. So to finally have a second reliable ride on park is like, wow.

It's just whatever you're used to. If you guys have had pretty faultless B&Ms as the new toys for years, Mach Tower and Verbolten's troubles, however minor, look poor. That's far from unreasonable.

RE: Verbolten

Anyone know how the employee riding finished up or if it did?

Any information as to a "soft opening" at all? Wondering if they are going to do that this weekend, next, etc?

RE: Verbolten

Any reason why it was postponed? There wasn't any bad weather, so the only thing I could think of is that they put the announcement too late and did not get many people signed up in time for 10 hours of testing
