I am.trying to keep my expectations low, but with a 50 million budget, its hard to not to expect something a level of the mummy.


Btw i love dark castle. I think it holds up well to spiderman, even though spiderman is better. If v bolt can be the same level as dark castle to mummy, i will be happy. Hoping for big projection screens, and maybe realistic props like a big tree slamming the coaster down when the drop track falls.


Hate for this to be disappointing...if busch can deliver a disney like ride in williamsburg would be a great achievement...

The painted scenery will be lit with black lighting. I'm sure there are some other scene elements.

Also, the shots in the event building were with the work lights on, it'll be much darker during normal operation.

thanks for the info! This guarantees that we will have a rock n roller coaster like experience with the glowing lights. sweet. That track layout looks crazy..really compact.

Also at 9 seconds into the video, you can see what appear to be either speakers or blacklights very close to the track (probably the former)

busch been really hyping this coaster up for years. I hope it delivers. Plus the excitement in this board is growing in leaps and bounds. After the huge disappointment of Europe in the air, i hope Busch can really nail this! the infamous cg video getting everyone here talking, i really hope bush implement the wolves, bats, and lightning, plus trees into their coaster. some nice projection screens would be great.

please don't let this be a bust like thirteen. thirteen had the BEST intro video ever, and didn't even implement 80% the stuff they advertise. please busch, we expect this coaster to KILL the mummy and rock n roller coaster. i hate to have so high expectations, but man with larry giles pumping this coaster it's hard not to get pumped! But thirteen and EITA both got pumped, and both were terrible!

don't disappoint me busch! can't wait till i hear reviews of the people who won the media pass day!

Busch destroyed me by taking away 2 of my favorite rides, big bad wolf AND CORK SCREW! I love cork screw!! I felt like my heart got gutted out when it was replace with EITA. I really hope this ride can please all the busch fans that felt hurt by taking away 2 classics.

i am pretty bitter after EITA, and mach tower..i decided to give busch one more chance. I had a chance to either drive 7 hours to busch this year or go to unversial studios to check out the amazing transformers ride, which many are saying it's a better, faster version of the incredible spiderman ride in IOA.

is it fair for me to compare this ride to a theme park attraction like universial? It's not, but going there twice to see EITA and mach tower...and no big bad wolf....eeck...busch owe us, the fans. Busch owe US to make this coaster incredible as they planned out to be.

i will be there june 4th! third time is the charm i guess!

its up to v bolt to deliver!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no doubt in my mind Verbolten will make the ten steel coasters or at least any award as well as being one of the overall best rides in the park.

Personally, I love EITA and I am glad Corkscrew was taken out. One more ride I can handle.

Also, I really don't think the park owes anyone anything, they are still delivering their original promise, family friendly fun entertainment. Also, it's not their fault if a ride becomes too expensive over time or too dangerous.

I would expect large crowds on the 18th and especially the 19th. These are naturally busy days for the park.

I don't understand all the Mach Tower hate. It's a pretty solid ride in the park's lineup. Sure the drop is short and the seats are terrible, but other than that, it's a great ride.

I would probably not ride this expecting Rock n' Roller Coaster. I'd probably expect this to be on the level of BBW or Stunt Coaster if anything (Mummy would be pushing it theming wise at least).

If you plan on going to the park on the 18th, prepare for a minimum 2-3 hour wait for V-bolt (and I'm pretty sure that's not counting breakdowns). Following Sunday shouldn't be as bad.

Since I didn't win one of the spots in the VIP contest, some friends and I are contemplating camping out at Busch Gardens Thursday May 17 so that we can be one of the first in line on Friday May 18. Does anyone know if Busch security will let us spend the night in the parking lot? Alternatively, how early can we park our car at the parking entrance and wait there? Finally, sometimes Germany does not open until 11:00am or Noon. Is it going to open right at 10:00am on the 18th.

Security will not let you stay in the parking lot, but you can stay in one of the nearby parking lots by mcDonalds. Then just wake up and get to the toll plaza ASAP. They will probably open Verbolten only hen Italy opens like Mach tower and then open te rest of Oktoberfest as usual.

^^ I'd recommend contacting the park about camping out overnight before the park opens. Also I'm sure plenty of other people have your idea of arriving before rope drop at the entrance. There's a chance you'll be waiting in a line, even if you do arrive early.

If you'd like to avoid the potentially huge turnout, I'd recommend going the following Sunday. The turnout should be big, but not 2-3 hours wait (sans breakdowns of course).

The Sunday after Griffon's opening the line was 90 minutes. It ended up being three and a half after the breakdowns occurred.

Good question. In my experience a busy Friday is more bearable than a slow Saturday or Sunday. I assume anyone reading this will make every effort to be there Friday, but what are the chances Joe six pack (GP) will take a day off to ride the big V on Friday? What are everyone's expectations for morning/early afternoon crowds Friday?

i hope its not going to be that bad. it can go both ways i expect a lot of virginia residents so big crowed is possible. but it is a friday so a lot of people have work and school. so a 3 hour wait idk about that i guess i am hoping for the best a 90 min wait would be good

This ride should be better then stunt coaster in King dominion!

You have low expectations my friend! stunt coaster was terrible! I can't stand King Dominions.

Oh man i hate Europe in the air as most of my friends do too. I always tell the lady opening the door to put back corkscrew ride.

This can definitely out do rock n roller coaster. 2 launches, great theming. Jealous that you guys can ride this. hopefully good reviews come pouring out.
