RE: Verbolten

Great video....but that ride looks lame! That is my biggest fear with V. All this hipe and it turns out to be another Elmo coaster.

RE: Verbolten

This is a family pleaser. A ride that will be fun. It's a family coaster, not a kiddie coaster. I've been saying this from the beginning. True, the height is a little high, but this isn't a coaster meant to be on any top 10 lists. It's going to be a crowd pleaser, people are going to love it. I know I will (except that I'm banned and will never go to the park again [cough hi busch cough]). This ride fills a nice niche with enough firsts (especially for BG) to please lots of people. By no means is this an elmo coaster (that being said, I kind of think that thing packs a little bit of a punch haha). Also, don't forget that Polar X-Plorer hits 4.2 Gs which is more than Apollo's, Alpengeist, Lochness, and the BBW. Zierer can do helixes well. It's really going to have something for everyone :)

RE: Verbolten

i have been following these forums religiously, everyday and night checking for post. i may be new to post but i don't feel like a stranger.

With that being said i heard that they are trying to push for a soft opening this weekend.
And has anybody thought of how this duel load/unloading station will actually play out.

RE: Verbolten

I hope Verbolten's drop doesn't lower slowly like Polarwhatever's towards the bottom... That will actually be awful. It'll reduce the BAM of the drop to a gradual decline. On Polar it makes NO sense and ruins the flow of narrative. Eughgghg. Whhy? Kids can cope just fine with drop rides, those bouncer things are insane. I wish I knew why parks underestimate what kids can cope with, kids are damn brave. If anything, it's theming that freaks them out, not the visceral rides.

Suddenly worried that drop won't be better than Thirteen's... Oh dear. Thirteen's drop is actually quite good, I think. It does a false mini drop before falling all the way. I have no idea how tall it is, anyone know? The rest of Thirteen is absolutely dire though. The theme, the ride layout, everything is bar the drop is sub-standard.

Ugh, please Busch put Merlin to shame. Please, please, please. :(

On another note, Legoland is so dire... Why is it that that theming so uninspired, lame... Empty? I've only done the UK park, but seriously, it's filthy, bleek, aged and the theming is full of horrendous seams where it just ends and fails to create a world. Hate it.

May i ask what you are banned for?

RE: Verbolten

Sorry Voltage, you're still too new of a member for me (or anyone else for that matter) to tell you. Maybe sometime, or maybe I'm not banned at all ;)

Also, Hajime, we will slow down like that. If you look at the plans you can clearly see a fairly large portion of the drop track that has magnetic breaks on it. But I think Busch has a fix for this. Also in the plans you can see that we fall into a leaf pit with falling leaves towards the bottom. Thus, we will feel like a falling leaf before launching again. I think that would actually help with pacing. But yeah, I mean, we will have that slow section still.

RE: Verbolten

Hey everyone. Long time lurker, first post. I am really excited about Verbolten, I read on another site that there were issues with the launch that they were working to resolve, but if employees are truly riding tomorrow I guess that means the problems have been fixed. Will there really be a soft opening this weekend?

Also, I read a few pages back that BGW was looking for people to ride for Media Day? When is Media Day and how would I get to be one of the people to ride Verbolten (other than invited Media)?

I entered the BGW Verbolten VIP contest, but I guess I wan't selected. So unless I get an inside track to Media Day, or a confirmed soft opening date, I guess I will be waiting in line opening weekend.

RE: Verbolten

^I could be incorrect, but I believe they have not announced the winners of the VIP contest yet, last contest they posed the winners on their blog which I haven't seen yet. And I think media day is the 17th, so the "VIP" event is just another term for media day :)

RE: Verbolten

Employees are riding today. I follow the performers from Busch on twitter and my feed is blowing up from excitement!

RE: Verbolten

Has anyone seen the new video released by Busch Gardens? The ride looks great!

Polar Coaster isn't really supposed to be the most intense thing in the world, and the layout looks pretty solid before the drop track. Drop track seems pretty decent for a kid-centric ride and from the reviews I've read, the GP seems to eat it up (which means there probably is a BAM to the ride, especially if you're not expecting it).
