Uh, that was Swift's 3,175th post, not his first or second.

RE: Verbolten

Given the situation, while I do not hold any position, I would like to ask that these forums show some restraint in accusations and speculations. Even with the rumors, very little about the situation. It would be very unbecoming of us as fans to make this situation worse for the injured worker, their family and friends, and the park most of us love.

RE: Verbolten

This isn't a rumor. Not when multiple people saw it or know of it. Plus the fact no one has yet to see the yellow train backs it up. Also, the park will have to say something about it since they will be down one train. People are going to notice. Now, they could get it fixed if there is somewhere in the US that can fix it. Wouldn't be that hard to put it on a flat bed.

I wasn't talking about swift, but the guy who originally posted it... His post has been since removed

RE: Verbolten

This is terrible news. I was at the park last night and knew nothing of the accident until this morning. We got there around 5 and were checking out Verbolten around 7 or so. They were moving to green train into the station there were several workers and Larry Giles watching. He came walking by and we started talking to him, he seemed to be in an excellent mood going on and on about Verbolten. He said they would be "cycling" the trains tomorrow (tomorrow being today now). He stopped and talked with us for a good 10 to 15 mins and as I said seemed to be in a very good mood. I only mention this taking his demeanor into account that perhaps the accident wasn't nearly as bad as is thought. We can only hope for the best and wish anyone that was injured well.

On that note, anyone there and are they running the trains through?

This incident oddly reminds me of the painted who died painting BBW after a coaster train collided with him.

A train didn't collide with him. The crane he was using lost its footing and fell into the river.

RE: Verbolten

From the comments on the main site (take them with a grain of salt):

[Name Removed For Privacy] (a construction worker with Henderson) is in the Williamsburg Regional Hospital, he has been in the ICU for over 10 hours, he is showing signs of recovery

He under went surgery and has 38 stitches on his skull he shattered his cervical vertebrae, word on if Henderson is taking legal action is still unknown, the ride state I am assuming is; the park is going to have to replace the column and yellow train, the opening date is still however set for May 18...

Also, we have more people (including someone I personally trust) coming forward to confirm the story.

RE: Verbolten

^I was there last night and they moved the Orange train into the station and checked the restraints and such around closing. I was hoping they were going to test it, but they did not (makes sense if this rumor is really true). The yellow train was missing from the station/maintenance bay/storage areas so I was a bit curious about where it was. One of the guys in front of Verbolten (who kept going in and out of the station) said that they were scheduled to test during park hours, but cancelled it. All I can say is if this rumor is true and the brakes were the cause of it, we could see some major lawsuits to Zierer from the worker.

Another note: There were at least 3 "official" looking in the station (with plans in-hand and all) and a couple outside of the event building looking in.

A few pics from yesterday (4/20/12) :

The station looks really nice at night time!

Another view of the station. Like we all haven't seen this before.

The aforementioned work being done on the Orange train. I got excited when it moved up, but it was a downer when they moved it back into storage... They've also added tires below the track.

Yeah this also sounds similar to multiple people confirming that park officials saying that verbolten would some type of 300 foot vertical launch coaster. Like behind the thrills posted earlier until you get some type of official accident report this should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

RE: Verbolten

I see no legal action need to be taken, it is not Zierers fault that the ride is in TESTING and anything can happen. I am sure the manufacturer can make a new yellow train and ship it over within a week or two. The same goes for a new support.

This does seem extremely unlikely to happen, but remember anything can happen during testing, expect the unexpected.

Also, sorry for the misinformed BBW story, thats just what I heard.

EDIT: On a bright side, I am glad to hear they were going to test during park hours and I am glad to see they got the lights working around the station and such.

RE: Verbolten

This is starting to sound like Mach Tower, unfortunately, although I don't blame Zierer for this. I'm guessing it'll take a minimum of two weeks to fix this; one for Zierer to ship the support and track piece to Williamsburg, one to install them.

RE: Verbolten

I don't see any major delays unless damage is extremely extensive. If it is just a matter or replacing a support and track piece the delay should not take long.
