RE: Verbolten

Thank you for that polite response PzP. It was only guess, you could have been a bit nicer about it. Either way, you can't say it wasn't a good guess.

RE: Verbolten

What the heck did the reporter mean by "...Your going to get see it in action as you walk through the park after it opens...ASAP". Kind of a strange statement. Then again reporters are as accurate as the dippin' dots guy.

As far as visiting this weekend I have not decided whether to go to BGW or to Richmond for the Auto Show and I need to decide before tommorrow. I am King of the Procrastinators!:D

Update: I'm heading to BGW this morning.

RE: Verbolten

Yeah it was not running ,to my disappointment. But more importantly I saw that they had started planting on the hill (They looked to be tulip bulbs though they look like grass on my lo res camera phone). I don't remember that being there last week, nor can I find it in previous photos.

I thought with tulip bulb they would have plant them individually. Oh well show what I know (no green thumb here!)

RE: Verbolten

That is seriously one ugly footer. Whether you guys think this is a discussion or not, I have never seen a footer like that before. Not saying it isn't safe, just that it's still ugly ;)

I really can't believe you guys are upset over a footer...

Yeah, while we're at it, did you guys notice that one of the bricks in the queue building is almost 0.012 inch smaller than the rest? Oh my gosh--it's hideous!

/sarcasm/

RE: Verbolten

Alright, you know what, some of us are getting a little bit too snippy and, in addition to making me not feel like posting anything, it makes us a pretty unattractive forum to outsiders. At no point did I say I was "upset" about any footer or anything trivial enough to be accosted by someone who is old enough to just barely buy cigs and vote. I've been one of Verbolten's biggest supporters since the beginning and sorry if you feel like that other forum members haven't been posting the best content here, but silencing people with sarcasm is only going to make this community smaller.

I'll be back when there's something interesting to read about and you guys grow up a little.

RE: Verbolten

I apologize for coming off as condecending, that was not my intention. My issue is this; with everything going on about Verbolten, the fact that the footers are even being discussed comes across very nitpicky and OCD. I see it as being a ride, and with any ride, the ultimate thing that should only matter is the ride itself. Yes, even theming and decoration are cool, but in the end, they don't really matter that much.

RE: Verbolten

Like Carter said, I don't see anyone saying "O, this is an awful ride because there's an ugly footer!" The footer looks odd, and in its current condition, does, in my opinion, look quite sloppy. Vaughan said it best:

Wanna know how I know this coaster is going to be good? The only thing we can complain about is floating footers...
Also, PzP, details are vitally important. The park has always focused very heavily on them and it would be a shame to see them stop now. We are nitpicky. Who is most critical of games? Gamers. Sports teams? Sports fans. It comes with the territory.

RE: Verbolten

I'm sorry, I just don't see it. I look at those footers and I honestly think, "This will not affect the ride at all, so what's the big deal? Wht are people burning calories to type this out?". I do apologize that my comments seemed like they were directed at a single person, but l fail to grasp why this is even an issue.

RE: Verbolten

Erosion during the construction process would be the reasoning for it appearing as it is. With it being a protected slope it is hard to "just cover it up," it does not work like that on a bank. Talk to someone with waterfront property with no bulkhead or ripraf, they will tell you fast that the EPA does not allow you to just put more earth right there. It will have to be covered with a shrubbery that is noninvasive to the support system. FYI every support has under-workings just as you see in the "odd footer." I can promise every coaster in the park has at least one that is view-able to an extant even if it is very minor.
