RE: Verbolten

Ahhh i see thanks guys. And that is sad bc even to this day i still appreciate all the theming

RE: Verbolten

Well, the general public just wants to ride rides, see shows, and eat. Not everyone does though, there are those that like to ride incredibly themed and enhanced rides, see award winning shows, and eat high class food. Sadly, the majority is the general public.

RE: Verbolten

Take this with a grain of salt. But I got word Verbolten will be testing sometime tonight.

RE: Verbolten

Well, I heard testing already started but not too long ago. Either way, if testing is just now starting, does that mean all five trains have arrived? If so, how long will this testing be? If not, what exactly are they testing? and are they testing the trains before receiving all five? Any clues to how long they expect testing to take place and when should they finish testing at the earliest? and at the latest? What is included in this testing process exactly?

Those are just the few question I have right now, and of course as always, with the answers to those questions, many more questions are to follow.

RE: Verbolten

when tasting a roller coaster for the very first time. you CAN NOT but all trains on the track and expect it to work. they test 1 train at a time that way if the train doesn't brake right then it won't crash into another. then over a 2 weeks they will slowly add the trains onto the track. the first 2 days will be testing the launches by launching at super slow speeds, slowly raising the speed. if they launch at full speed first try it will more than likely break since it needs to get warmed up. This also test roll backs.

RE: Verbolten

I am going to guess they have started basic theme element testing (lights, fog, etc) and maybe, just maybe, the beginning of pull through testing

This seems most likely. They are probably just testing the small theme elements that they just wired together like last week or something like that. Not really any major ride testing yet. They probably are finishing up wiring the ride and testing the small things, then start testing the system and then keep working up to bigger things to test. Probably in a week or two they may actually test a train. After all, if they expect to open in June and they are testing now, they probably want to be very specific about testing and take their time. Test each thing extremely carefully.

RE: Verbolten

The general public care less about both still. But yeah, themeing is the actual stuff that you see to create a certain environment. Story is what you are doing on the ride and as you are in the queue. Great themeing can tell a really good story, that way you aren't just standing around only thinking about riding a ride. The story for Verbolten is you are booking a trip of the autobahn (in queue line) however when your car gets struck by lighting you take a wrong turn into the black forest and eventually fall off a broken bridge. The themeing is all the props and detailed work done in the queue to help immerse you in that story. The only thing is the general public only cares about riding a fun ride.

RE: Verbolten

Did anyone else realize/find humor in the fact that the original ride in that space, Die Wildekatz, also has somewhat car themed cars? This picture is the stock model for that ride, which from the few pictures of the ride I can find and the pictures at Adventure Park, appears to be what was running at the Olde Country. If it hadn't been a stock car, it would have been cool if Verbolten had some similar stylings.

They have not begun to test these things(read effects)...reason? they are not installed yet.....
Expect testing of individual launches to test and calibrate speed...

This makes no sense! If the ride is to open Memorial Day weekend (which by my sources say that is the opening date) then how can they be so far along with testing now? I am sure if they are testing launches and such now, that testing would finish by the end of March. Mid-May at the very latest.

there were signs outside the employee/bus entrance that said opening this spring, so maybe a bit before may 25

The park has said everything from March 2012 to Late Spring (Memorial Day weekend). It appears as if the park has no idea when the ride will be done other than Spring.

Honestly, I think the park is just going to open it when it is done, they simply have no other plan. I think, testing will finish in March, Mid-April, they open the ride a few days, then have a big opening sometime on a big important day.

Had anyone else seen that ride's duration was guna be 90 seconds on the park's website fact sheet on Verbolten? I heard it was guna be longer than that... I wonder what's up with that?
It is, they changed their plans and made the ride longer considering 1 minute and 30 seconds is a really short roller coaster.
