RE: Verbolten

What I'm saying is you guys want to trust RCDB over a fact sheet when the info ON RCDB is taken from those fact sheets......If there's a new fact sheet, I trust that more than a website that probably wasn't updated yet.

RE: Verbolten

True, but I honestly just don't thin 90 seconds is the time, it seems too short. But I agree 3 minutes is too long.

RE: Verbolten

You realize that's like saying "True, but I honestly just don't think 2000+ feet of track is long enough. It just seems longer than that."

The only thing you guys can back ANYTHING up on is the Fact Sheet. Can't back it up? Got a hunch? Cool. I'm buying the Fact Sheet

RE: Verbolten

The fact of the matter is that nobody (Not The Coaster Community, Busch, or even Zierer) knows exactly how much time this ride will take to complete a circuit. The current times out are estimates, based on computer modeling, which doesn't take into consideration various factors (like variations in the steel of the track or the trains' wheels) which can affect the time. Once the ride opens and a couple of POVs go up, I'll change the time to match. Until then the time is still speculative.

RE: Verbolten

What I am saying is, no I don't think it is 3 minutes, but I don't think it is 90 seconds either. It seems more like a 2 minute ride to me.

Like Gavin said, no one knows and what is posted is just guesses by the park and Zierer

RE: Verbolten

You realize that there's no way that the model is over a minute and half off correct? Yes, of course those are estimates, but I would like to go out on a limb that it's pretty important that all of those stakeholders have a pretty good idea where those trains are. So if your reason for speculating that the ride is 3.5min long is that the fact sheet is an estimate and the computer model isn't perfect, I'm going to say that's an absurd claim.

Again, tell me: what exactly causes the discrepancy between the fact sheet and your estimated time?

RE: Verbolten

The discrepancy is the facts sheets, why trust them? They both say something completely different and yet there is no reason provided why the two fact sheets differ from each other? I say, wait until it opens and then you can see for yourself. Why go back and forth arguing?

All it is really is, this piece of paper is better than that piece of paper. It is a stupid and pointless argument.

RE: Verbolten

The discrepancy is from the fact that I used the first fact sheet for two reasons:
  1. 90 seconds seems way to short for this ride to me
  2. I'm still not sure about BuschGardensNews.com (which is where the 2nd sheet is hosted), and choose not to use it.

RE: Verbolten

Hell, lets attack this from a different angle.

Volcano: The Blast Coaster
Top Speed: 70 mph
Track Length: 2,757'
Ride Duration: 1 minute 10 seconds

Verbolten
Top Speed: 55 mph
Track Length: 2,835'
Ride Duration: Unknown

Now tell me, how is Verbolten going to be 90 seconds?

That domain name has been used as a media image database for years, even prior tot he opening of Griffon. Trust me, it is legit.

RE: Verbolten

we don't know if anything is true or not until testing is done and the ride is tested at full speed. but gavins post makes since. volcano is 1 minutes 10 seconds and verbolten might be 1 minute 30 seconds. Verbolten is slower, just a tad bit longer, has 3-5 MCBR's at least 2 of those are trim brake zones (before the drop track section, and bridge). 90 seconds just doesn't make since at all. I can see more toward the 3 minutes 25 seconds but maybe shave some time off that. No one can really give a given ride time on anything.
