Verbolten will have to be cleared through Zierer with their own checklists, cleared through the corporate maintenance department, cleared by the park's maintenance department, and then through the park's operations department.

It also needs to be state-inspected and certified :)

That doesn't take long either... Every ride gets inspected every year by the state anyway... Not sure what goes into the state inspection, but I am sure it is not months worth of inspecting

RE: Verbolten

Well then, I would guess at most it takes 2 months and an extra week or two to program and test the whole thing, I think the other 2 months practically is just cushion time then. If something goes wrong they have 2 months too fix it, and if everything goes perfect, they might open it early. But of course, they made no promise to the public other than the year 2012.

RE: Verbolten

I am going expand everyone's points.

When Zierer or any other manufacturer does an installation the control system program (the PLC) is written beforehand at the manufacturers office and when the manufacturer rep comes to the site for last few weeks of the installation that's when the control program is downloaded to the PLC.

Before this can all happen, the electrician's with the electrical contractor has to complete the wiring to the proximity sensors, photoeyes, LSM's, remote pushbuttons and control console.

Once, this is done, then the fun part begins, testing and adjustments are done. All this work takes about 12 weeks to complete if everything goes well.

Now, with the show building, they will do some testing without the trians running on the tracks, which allows the show rep to make some adjustments to the photoeyes or proximity sensors and they can also flag these so they can do basic adjustments to the program or timing relays before running the trains through the building.

One thing that I can say is, I had this chance to wire and test a coaster when the Wild One was reprofiled and it was fun do to.

RE: Verbolten

I have an inside source that has confirmed that the trains are on sight...this person told me that the front car was installed on to the transfer track on Friday, and that it resembles a sexy looking VW beetle aka Herby... He also said that the front head lights will come on in the event building, and will remain on at night. I Will let you know more when I find out.

It's good hear that your little birdie has told you that the trains are being put on the transfer track.

This post is right on the money.

It normally takes one ride inspector less than two days to inspect a coaster of this size and less than a day if two inspectors are working together, which is the norm. This way they can inspect the whole park in 6 to 10 days.

When I worked for Six Flags America as a full-time electrician back in 99, it took the state ride inspectors less than two weeks to do the park and this included the two new coasters and a reprofiled Wild One with a new control system.

That sounds very promising right now, I can't wait to see all the work that has been done. What I am curious to know though is, the themeing with the queue and station, how much of that is done so far?

RE: Verbolten

The only timetable we really saw, was the estimated schedule zoomy posted that had testing being done next month and opening in march. I'm skeptical of waiting until may to open, considering they were aiming for march, and it doesn't look like their schedule has slid to the right too far yet.

RE: Verbolten

Also they have begun working on the themed bridge the main structure is up now just to apply some theme park magic and it will be built...This ride is going to be great

RE: Verbolten

Hmmm, different color trains...This is a first for BG as far as I know; except Wild Maus I guess.

RE: Verbolten

I have a camera and I have the pictures of the trains...unforurtainly I can't upload them to my computer or send them to my email I did not get the mss messaging plan...need to though I can take a picture of my phone with my digital camera it will be LQ but you might still be able to make out the images

Umm... Someone from the inside of the park maybe a construction worker or something just tweeted a picture of the progress of theming the event building it looks amazing looks dark no lights on just a sky light is revaling the sharp curve and looks like something is being built that is massive in the far right corner also the truck is not staying... It's just suplying tools here is the tweet link with the picture attached on the tweet:) READY 2 Ride! https://twitter.com/ajamcwow/status/161535250370019328
