RE: Verbolten

Half, or more, the fun of the ride will be not knowing every detail the first time you ride it. This game is played best by the rules.

RE: Verbolten

Seriously people, just stop. We ended up seeing Verbolten basically complete during Christmas Town. I think you can wait till March to see it again. What you do is your business- if you want to pay an employee for pictures, float a boat down the Rhine River, etc. I couldn't care less, just don't discuss it here. End of story.

RE: Verbolten

For those of you who keep talking about breaking to the park and such, READ.

The point of these forums is to provide open discussion, these rules are meant to provide guidance regarding what the boundaries of discussion will be here. These rules are not set in stone, additions and modifications of rules will take place based on the will of the community.

Although I started this forum, it's not mine, it's the community's, it can't exist without a loyal community that feels like they have a stake in the success of this site. If you feel that a new rule should be added, an existing rule should be modified or an existing rule needs to be clarified, just send me a PM and give me your thoughts. If you feel you have been unjustly accused of any forum rule, you may appeal directly to me for discussion with the forum team.

Here are the current rules:

- No Spam, I will remove spam and ban any user (via IP) posting it the first time it shows up.

- User Profile Restrictions (The reason for these restrictions is to reduce distractions from content and give the forums a more uniform look)
-- Profile images may not be animated.
-- Signatures may not include smilies.

- Excessive use of smilies in posts is not allowed. What constitutes excessive is not solidly defined and will be judged on a case by case basis. Removal of the post will not be the action taken in the vast majority of cases, simply an edit of the post to reduce the number of smilies.

- Dead threads will be removed after one week. (Dead threads are new threads that have no responses in seven days and old threads (already responded to) that have no response for one month. The reason for the removal of dead threads is to save on load time and cut down on the database size.)

- No excessive strong language

- No inappropriate content

- No illegal activity or requests for others to engage in illegal activity.

- No threats of violence

i am not promoting it, just trying to convince people its not good or easy.

anyways, i am sure verbolten construction is sliding along, with more time to work and how quickly we have seen them put things together so far.
Very true and I don't promote anyone breaking the law.

BTW, Disney World and Disneyland use vehicle barriers at all their back gates and you can see them from Bing or Google using birdseye view.

with that done and over with, when can we see verbolten ads on tv and radio? anyone have any ideas?

I doubt advertising like that will begin until a few weeks before it opens. I'd guess about 3 weeks before it opens.

However, I think billboards are an exception. I could see those popping up around the Williamsburg area soon.

Unfortunately, though, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing any viral marketing. As much as they could have done to advertise a coaster like Verbolten, I don't think they have enough time left to advertise it like that.

RE: Verbolten

Do you think they will Post an official on ride animated video even after it's open or will they still want it to be a surprise to new riders?

RE: Verbolten

i think the marketing plan for verbolten is simply keep it low key, with mach tower they wanted everyone in the world to know and look what happened. so i think keep it low key until they know for sure the ride has no issues.

RE: Verbolten

Of course they did. They wanted everyone to know what is going on, since they haven't done anything major like this in years. Now, since everyone knows what going on, they don't need to push any major advertising until they have media day.

RE: Verbolten

A leak on a theme park fansite isn't a substitute for normal advertising. We built tons of hype in the enthusiast community as well as to fragments of the general public through news reports like the one from the LA Times. They still need to reach the masses. We already did part of their job for free- they shouldn't expect us to finish it for them too. Your move BGW.

RE: Verbolten

but with mach tower, it was solely mach tower, no one knew anything about verbolten and people still don't. pushing hard for one attraction when another is soon to open right behind it is no excuse for pushing for another attraction UNLESS they had advertised the new oktoberfest all together and advertised both rides at the same time.

RE: Verbolten

Zierer has a ton riding on this coaster. Legoland is just behin BGW on progress. With the launch system being proven and how much time it would seem they have put on the drop segment then I am willing to bet it will be a fairly smooth testing season for them. I have a feeling if theming does not trigger as they wish then they will still open it and work on theming during downtime.

RE: Verbolten

i think they really are focused on the ride mechanics, at least get the things running fine, but this ride is just to themed and detailed to just push the work off for later, i honestly think they will work on it until it is perfect or as close to perfect as possible. after all this is probably going to be the big pull for attendance for the 2012 season.

RE: Verbolten

true, but i am hoping that since it is going to have many "firsts" and is all amazing like it sounds so far, then they probably will decide to advertise it, and they should.

RE: Verbolten

hmmm, that could work and i am sure if they open it in march or even april they can still do some major advertisement with it memorial day to draw in even bigger crowds.

RE: Verbolten

They can still advertise, but in a few weeks it'll be too late to build any hype for the ride. Does anyone know how early BGT started to build hype for Cheetah Hunt?

RE: Verbolten

I just thought of something: what does it matter that they advertise now? Exactly as cpt said, make sure it works now, advertise later. I'm sure they're hesitant to advertise because of what happened to MT. There was major hype for MT, but it ended up being delayed a long time. They could be thinking "well, we don't want to let people down, let's just advertise after we get the first riders on." I mean if the projected opening date is really the beginning of the season, they will have plenty of time to get the word out to the public before the end of the season.
