RE: Verbolten

I agree with you about the construction workers

There are a lot of things that don't show up on google maps... There is a guard shack behind FHP that doesn't show up on GMaps because it is hidden by trees

And I do think that to think we will do ANYTHING to get info about Verbolten... We already got a guy fired, why wouldn't we hop a few fences and bend a few rules?

The fences are pretty tall with about 4-5 strands of barbed wire... Not max security prison style, but still would give you a few cuts and scrapes if you tried to cross

RE: Verbolten

I don't think you would even see anything. Maybe the themed bridge. The main track area is in a building, the queue is under a roof and the station is under a roof. You would basically see what we already have from the air...

RE: Verbolten

Okay, sorry I brought it up.

However, I do have another idea. Do the plane thing but with a remote controlled boat on the Rhine. Although I bet all we'd see is the themed bridge and the rest of the drop. I think we should just stick with the plane, do the boat, or pay the construction worker.

I still think our best bet is to find some construction worker as he is entering/leaving the park for work, pay him 10-20 bucks, give him a cheap disposable digital camera, and ask him to email somebody the pictures. Then just take them to a 1-hour photo place, get the pictures and the CD, and upload them. I think it's our best bet and a tad bit more reliable than flying a costly remote-controlled plane over the Rhine with the risk of crashing it. Though I do admit, it would be fun to go through with it to say we did it. :p

Also, I don't think you need a license to fly ultralight planes, so that could possibly be an option, but it's probably unlikely.

Back to Verbolten, where do we think it is now? I'm going to guess that the bottom of the drop is completed and that it's heading back up that hill, and that once the track has connected, we will see the themed bridge start to go up. And when are they going to start adding theming in the event building?

No we didn't.

I did some digging and found out that at least one guy got fired for releasing those plans to us a while back... that's how I found out that the plans are legit

Also, isn't there something better to talk about than breaking into the park?

This.

Not a good idea to trespass just to get pics.

Does anyone remember this news?

Two Teens Charged For Vandalizing Theme Park

November 12, 1999

Williamsburg, VA -- Two teenage boys were charged with burglary and felony destruction of property after causing more than $100,000 in damage to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, during a vandalism rampage.

According to local police the crime was found on Sunday, November 7. The two 13-year-old individuals attempted to start the Apollo's Chariot roller coaster, broke park windows, and spray painted walls. The two also stole a variety of merchandise from the park souvenir shops.

The police report that nearly all of the acts committed by the two were caught on park security cameras.

Park security and the police caught the two on Sunday as they were scaling a fence returning to the park. The two boys are being held at a detention center following a bond hearing. A court date will be set for later this month.

For all of those with the ideas of sneaking in, they do have a pretty good handle on security there... I've seen security driving up and down Busch Rd. before, and I know you would get caught for sneaking in.

Oh yeah, and whoever had the idea of going on Busch Rd., you would need to have access to Kingsmill (or at least their woods course) in order to get there. The end of that road that meets with 60 has a gate & guard - that's where the receive all of their shipments.

Apollo does get hard to resist over the winter... lol... back on topic... for the record, I am NOT in favor of breaking into the park to get pics... I think that we can think of legal ways to get pictures

I don't know about theming but I think effects start on the tenth.

RE: Verbolten

I would say top ways to get pics

1. Pay off a real construction worker (cheapest)
2. Fly a long range r/c plane with a camera on it (a little pricy, but not too much)
3. Fly a real plane over the site (most expensive... unless you have friends that have an airplane)

any others?

RE: Verbolten

i think playing construction worker would be fun, actually i doubt that security is tight. just sayin, a security guard told me one day, they don't have cameras everywhere, just in the shops sometimes. so really, i was a little surprised those teens were caught on camera.

on the verbolten track, i believe the whole track is in circuit and themeing has begun and they are probably in the middle of the bridge and event building, and still working on the ride mechanics at the station.

Here's another way that is the cheapest. Pay off a park employee with cell phone.

RE: Verbolten

the closest roads anywhere near the entrance to the park has some sort of guard near it. for example, all kingsmill entrances/exits are guarded by kingsmil so only their family, friends, and guests can get access via that way, and then all park roads are guarded by park security. the closest to the park you can get by driving will be the employee entrance, or the toll booth, or if you have kingsmil connections and like hiking, you can kie to the park boundary/fence which is like 10 ft. tall.

RE: Verbolten

i am not promoting it, just trying to convince people its not good or easy.

anyways, i am sure verbolten construction is sliding along, with more time to work and how quickly we have seen them put things together so far.
