RE: Verbolten

Hey, at least whoever did that video was better with PowerPoint than the person who did Gloria's slideshow. :p

RE: Verbolten

I wonder how long it will be before they start to actually start laying cinderblocks or bricks or whatever the walls of the building will be. And has any progress been made on the station?

RE: Verbolten

If there is and they want their update posted to the main site, let me know. We're always looking for more people to provide updates.

From looking at posts to another, not so good, site (no urls mentioned...), the wall facing the bumper cars is nearing completion (it is a green wall made of some sort of metal) and there has not been much work done on the station. They are putting in some sort of erosion control system near the final turn before the station though. Other than that, looks like everything is the same. That is only from what I could tell from the few pictures they had though..

RE: Verbolten

I saw a few pictures of it on another site. I agree that it looks ugly. However, I actually kind of called the green color. In my prediction that I released on Cinco de Mayo this past May (the really inaccurate one where I had it as an Intamin, link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3GG180rfGw), I decorated the front of the building to blend into the forest. Just thought it was kind of funny.

Anyway, it didn't work as well as I thought it would. I was hoping that when I did it, it would blend in with the surrounding forest and become invisible until you were a few feet from the entrance. However, it's not as wooded there as I thought it would be. It looks pretty bad. Hopefully the ride's worth the ugly green block just sitting there.

If I were them, what I would do is use white metal instead of green, and paint a huge Bavarian-esque mural on it. Having mountains painted on it would be really nice, actually. They probably won't change the appearance, but I wish they would.

RE: Verbolten

Really guys, you are being a bit harsh. Not much they could do to the side of the building. It needs to remain functional, and there is gonna be trees and other things in the way anyways. You are acting like they slapped it right down in the middle of the park. I mean you can barely see the building from anywhere else besides bumper cars and the festhaus park gate as it is so why the complaining?

If it's mostly gonna be out of sight, it does not need to be decorated. Tress cant cover the area because while it is still being built they will need to move machinery in and around the building AND for maintenance they will need paths around the building clear. Atleast they painted it green for heaven's sake.

RE: Verbolten

From the looks of the pictures, I thought it looked like it was just slapped down there. If it is being blocked by trees, then that changes everything. You probably won't be able to see it from anywhere but the coaster. And is there going to be any theming on the front of the building? I thought it was that worn out bridge from the leaked blueprints but I wasn't sure.

where are the pictures at?

^ Gone because of a DMCA take-down notice. Doesn't mean we can't talk about them though. There's supposed to be some kind of stone tunnel looking facade at the entrance to the entry launch tunnel.

^ oooh ok. but that sounds cool

RE: Verbolten

I can't remember, but how long is the tunnel into the building? Does it emcompass the entire launch or is it inly a short distance?

RE: Verbolten

The plans didn't show it covering the whole launch like the park claimed it would when they presented the application to the JCC Planning Commission.

RE: Verbolten

I didn't realize that Carl lum presented the plans... I thought that was Larry Giles job
