RE: Verbolten
To be fair, the plans are BGW's IP and a DMCA claim is not really censorship when someone is leaking your proprietary designs. You put a lot of money into those plans, and if they're leaked, then other companies can steal your ideas or design/market against it. They're just protecting their IP. I wouldn't consider this censorship. For example, some of you in your signatures have some sort of message that says that no one can use your words in your posts without your permission. It's essentially the same thing for the Verbolten plans.
Now, trying to get a site like this shut down, closed, or to remove content because we post videos of on-ride footage/construction, criticize the park, share special deals, or lament about a horrible experience with an employee would be an inappropriate use of the DMCA in my opinion. Trying to use a DMCA claim to make sure no one gives you bad reviews is censorship.
All that said. I very much enjoyed being able to look at some of the plans. I'm surprised they took as long as they did to issue a DMCA claim.
(Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer, but an avid reader of wikipedia and the internet. I could be totally wrong about DMCA, but I don't think I am.)
