RE: Verbolten

I'm not really good with distance, but how fast is the train supposed to be going to get to the bridge?

I don't see anything that confirms it isn't related with the drop track either, maybe it could be a part of the first launch track where you stop before driving. But why would they show the brake fins and the accelerator fins together like that? Is it just to show how everything fits on the track?

Chains are usually blocks correct? Why can't the launch segment be?

As far as speed goes for distant. I'd imagine the launch will have you at the top speed between 2.5 and 2.9 seconds MAX. Look up a velocity formula and equate from there to get an idea.

RE: Verbolten

Yeah but doesn't that mean the drop track can also act as both, too? I mean as in a block and a part of the launch track. Just because the schematic doesn't show parts of the drop track doesn't mean the drop track can use the same thing that the schematic shows.

The numbers that I crunched put it anywhere from 194-225 feet. Yeah my guess was really off, lol. But that distance is actually pretty good, it is about the same as a high end Rally Car (they have a 0-60 around like three seconds give or take, 4WD).

RE: Verbolten

Fixed support on the right. Not the drop segment. Lufter has nothing to do with "Lifter" either.

Ford's WRC Fiesta is 2.0 flat!

RE: Verbolten

Lüfter means fan here right? I'm assuming to cool the fins or whatever as braking generates heat.

RE: Verbolten

...I didn't get to attend EAS today as, unfortunately, my dog is very ill. :(

Hopefully I'll get there tomorrow, in the meantime, get well soons for my 15 year old mutt are appreciated.

Uh...didnt Swift just say it was the cross section of the first launch?

Uh…what does that have to do with someone asking for a pic of an entirely different segment.

RE: Verbolten

:dodgy:

Uh... I was talkin to CarterGee, and Uh... I incorrectly assumed he was saying that the pic Swift showed was of the drop track. My bad Carter.

I googled Lufter a while ago in class and yeah it all makes sense to me now.

Ford is insane, lol.

RE: Verbolten

Hey Chris, dont you think you should try to outdo Swift, because his pic was better than yours :p. So send a cooler one.;)

What I see as more interesting is the fact there is a set of fins vs a single row. Torx?

I don't speak dog, but if you could translate "Get well soon" to him/her, I would appreciate it.

Back on topic, did anyone notice that BG failed to mention that Verbolten will be a coaster on the construction boards around Oktoberfest? if the general public doesn't come back for anything new, it's BG's fault.

That's what caught my attention, too. The times I've seen magnetic fins on a coaster were to slow the ride down, not launch it. Even Mack has their magnets off to the side on Blue Fire instead of being on both sides like in the schematic.

Cheetah Hunt is one center row of them. This is two center rows. I am wondering exactly what the rate of acceleration will be now. That would be a significant level of torque with dual rows

RE: Verbolten

okay I know I am just popping out of no where Ive been reading for a long time now and the post above caught my attention. This ride looks like it will have 2 rows for the magnets. Maverick or cheetah hunt has just 1. But if you look at it these are thin magnets. Maverick and Cheetah Hunt have around an Inch thick magnet. So If you really think about they both can have same type of power. But with 2 the power can be divided between the 2. Just something to think about.
