RE: Verbolten

It's not all that great. My main concern with the ride is that Zierer may be biting off a whole lot more than they can chew- the situation seems very Mach Tower-like. The park can't swallow their pride and just work with Intamin so instead they go with two basically unknown companies who are just coping things that Intamin specializes in.

Hiya, I was wondering why SWP&E would need to swallow their pride on Intamin, isn't Cheetah Hunt an Intamin product? Did something happen with Cheetah Hunt that would make SWP&E not want to use them again? I'm seriously curious cause I didn't know there was any kind of bad blood between the park and that company.

Personally I am super excited about Verbolten. Busch Gardens is good at what they do in my opinion. (Minus the simulator ride that must not be named...)

RE: Verbolten

Each park has their own operating staff. Tampa doesn't decide what goes into Williamsburg and vice versa. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I understand it, Intamin did Escape from Pompeii. Lary Giles, vice president of engineering, supposedly does not like that the ride has a lot of down time and does not trust their reliability. So that could be why he/the park decided to go with Zierer. At least that's the story that I've picked up on these boards.

RE: Verbolten

After what happened with Escape from Pompeii, Larry Giles apparently came out and told BGEscape that the park would never work with Intamin again.

Oh I see. Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to know. So it wasn't a SWP&E/BEC thing it was a BGW thing. I wouldn't mind seeing Pompeii replaced in the near future.

Bizarro @ Great Adventure is horrible for on-ride speakers. You can barely hear any audio once you begin that first drop.

Six Flags execs who made the decision to add the on-ride audio forgot that the coaster does not have sand-filled rails to mute the signature B&M roar.

RE: Verbolten

The last Rollercoaster from Zierer was builded in Schwaben Park! The Name of the Coaster is "Force One"
http://rcdb.com/8642.htm

The Track is really fast and 100% different to the Tivoli Coaster.
Also Zierer has designed a "Spinning Coaster".

In 1 Week I go the EAS 2011 in London, maybe i can show you some pictures about the different Rollercoaster Factory.(some Pictures about Zierer)

First, let me say to you "Wilkommen" to this forum! :)

Second, please post pictures from EAS 2011 in London, especially of Zierer. They may have something about Verbolten on display in their booth at this trade show!

Danke!!!

RE: Verbolten

the German roller coaster association (FKF = Freundeskreis Kirmes & Freizeitpark e.V.) the last year has chosen the company Zierer with a price of the best novelty.

In 2009 MACK and Great Coaster Int. was chosen.
In 2008 Gerstlauer and Intamin was chosen.

Speak the association an amount of experience already has and does not select at random the attraction / companies!

see link:
http://www.fkf-award.de/Preistraeger/preistraeger.htm

I think the content of the "event centre" the heart will become and differ to 100% from the roller coaster in Alton Towers.
I myself have already driven the roller coaster and found the free case not quite intoxicating.

Maybe another technology is used!!

PS: 5 trains/16 seats / ride duration 3 minutes, 25 seconds / 2,835 feet / 2 launches

RE: Verbolten

^ Thanks for the information! It's nice to see that they do have some support in the industry. Lets hope that this really is Zierer's Kumba and not another Drachen Fire, Escape from Pompeii, or Mach Tower.

RE: Verbolten

I just thought of something really incredible but probably not possible: The bridge element. put the th13teen style drop track in there like the bridge is collapsing, then make the car go down the drop after the sequence.

RE: Verbolten

Any idea on what the event building will look like? We can assume they'll do better than a Flight of Fear-type building!

The bridge plans would probably show something there if that's what was planned. Interesting idea though. I have to wonder if that tilting track section that the park lied to the employees about was actually an early concept for the covered bridge area- that would be a neat effect.

From what I can tell, it'll look a lot like the back side of Das Festhaus and DarKastle- basically like Flight of Fear.

I mean It shouldnt matter as long as they cover up the parts visible from the ride. In about 5 years It's gonna be some much fun to ride through all those thick trees...

when was this? My sources never told me about that?! Or were you talking about the vertical launch theory?

RE: Verbolten

I am expecting something to the effect of The Rocking Roller Coaster in MGM Studios. The out side of the building will be themed very well. But, I believe that the inside Special Effects and scenery will be something like The Rocking Roller Coaster. I don't mean as in the same theme, but the same type of execution.

RE: Verbolten

What is MGM Studios?

The outside of the building in all likelihood will have trees put in front. Why would they bother with the outside of that when CoDK has its show building obviously exposed.

It really bothers me that you can see DarKastle's show building. They really should have continued the castle facade on all visible areas.
