RE: Verbolten

The ride ran from just before 1pm today until 8:30 when the last rider exited the ride. I was in the area for the entirety of the technical dress rehearsal and there was only a ten minute downtime once due to a gate sensor (happens on all rides there and everywhere). When I asked if it would open anymore they stated that they're goal was to open the rest of the weekend
barring any technical issues. That is excellent news for the coaster. All in all it is a great experience to replace wolf and does it justice. After ten rides this afternoon and evening I can say my previous statement with confidence.

The ride's roughness is not something I really noticed on any of my rides. The only part that can catch you off guard is exiting the event building; when you exit there is a sharp ~ten foot drop and back to level. That little portion can make you go forward and back in the seat if caught off guard. The next partially rough if you can even call it that is the second to last turn (as my review says). None of it is mind rattling or the slightest bit out of place; it gives it character. Headlights WERE on on Blue tonight and stayed on inside of the building. They are working on the lights and once the bugs are gone then they will be off during the building.

The three separate drop themes are rather nice. "The Storm," "The Spirit," and "The Wolf." The only thing inside that changes is the drop scene and not the entire story inside. On the block segment inside you can figure out which you will have. The Storm you will hear thunder as you cross the block. The Wolf you will hear howling. The Spirit you will hear "the spirit's voice."

I left the last paragraph out in my review due to a failing battery in my phone. As you crest the top of launch #1 headed into the building it provides just over a half second of great air-time, especially in the back. The G-forces felt in the helicies are felt greatly; even in the front.

The restraints are most comfortable lap bars I have been on a coaster with. The seats fit very well to people of all sizes. As I stated earlier. It truly is a great family but unique coaster for the park and worthy of taking the wolf's place.

Yeah, the seats are insanely comfortable.

You should have seen the look on your son's face when he got off of it. He was cheesin' ear and to ear and just wanted to do it again.

I heard all about it when he got home. We forgot tonight was the "Strawberry Festival" at my daughter's school. Since I rode today, I let my wife take my son tonight and I took my daughter to her thing. The moral of the story: don't have kids.

RE: Verbolten

This also might (can't stress that "might" enough, so please don't rush off citing Jesus and what not) be the park's first ride with a boob joke. (queue certain heads exploding)

Gerta, the woman who runs the travel agency, has the traditional German outfit that certainly shows off sweater puppies. I wasn't able to get a good look at the video, but it looks like she was making a reference to "going over hills" while making hand movements that looked like they coinciding to her breasts. Once again, I was not able to get a good look at the video, so this might be me just seeing the wrong thing.

Plenty of Fahrt jokes still......

RE: Verbolten

So as you know, RnR has florescent signs throughout the course of the ride. Imagine that style of imagery set to large leaves and vibrant greens, browns, and at times pink. The imagery floods your eyesight throughout the course of the building. After the Mid-building block all you see is the imagery everywhere with certain items dimming out and new ones coming to light. You can see most of the building at that point but would never guess it. The track goes behind the scenery and prevents you from seeing rails. The interior was very well done.

No problem. There is various kinds of creepy audio playing throughout the building on top of the predecessor to the drop scene. When you ride then you it is clear exactly where the budget we have read so much about went. The facade for the entrance launch covers the better part of the building. Unless you are looking off to the left then most will never see it from the ride.

RE: Verbolten

I rode it today and I am still shaking from the experience OMG so freaking awesome. Note to self though make sure not to bring sunglasses because they will make you wear the glasses during the ride. I think I freaked out more because I couldn't see all of the actual lights in the building. I got the lightning scene and from what I could see through my dark tinted sunglasses it was just awesome. :D

RE: Verbolten

For those of you who haven't ridden Verbolten yet, you must ride it! The first time was the best for me for sure, so I instantly had to ride it again. I saw Larry Giles there at the exit, but didn't get a chance to talk to him unfortunately. I rode it a total of 5 times today, three times at first, then twice before the park closed. I do have to say though, it kinda got a little less exciting after riding it over again, but when I came back the second set of rides it was good again. The whole ride overall was better than I expected, but it did still seem like a "Family Ride." It did seem a little rough though - I think Griffon and AC are still by far the smoothest, but the Black Forest was absolutely astonishing and the drop track was great! It's hard to believe that not too long ago we saw the drop track bare and alone with nothing but concrete around it.

Now for the facts:
1. The Blue car's headlights were in fact working at night. I found out also that its tail lights work as well.
2. Videos were unable to be purchased, but the on-ride photos were pretty neat.
3. There was sound playing from the wrecked car in front and there was a stage set up in the middle of the stone circle.
4. The queue included a video of Gerta talking and screeching. Hopefully they lower the volume on the more annoying parts.
5. The queue was added onto (flooring wise, like MT), leaving a lot of room for guests to be in.
6. If the entire queue was to be filled, it would be about an hour wait, from what I could tell.
7. The average wait time today was about 30 minutes.
8. From what I can tell, it was running from 3:30 until close, non-stop, without breakdowns.
9. An employee does tell you which line to go in, but really if you just say you want to go somewhere else, you can - I was able to ride front row at least once.
10. The simultaneous loading seemed to work really well - when both trains were filled they would both roll out (the first one had to clear the station before the other started moving) and the first sped along down to the ravine with engine sounds coming from the speakers (on the platform with the orange buggie). The second car had to wait right outside the station, listening to the revving engines, and then be brought along.
11. The under banked helix makes you (well at least me and some others) a little light-headed, just like Griffon does on the first Immelman.
12. The second launch really snaps you into the back of your seat vigorously, but not for the whole time.
13. At the end portion of the ride (the last turns near the Rhine) have major vertical g-forces, especially the one right before the airtime hill.
14. There was a photographer at Verbolten from about 5 until closing, taking photos with a professional camera. I spotted him on the top of the stairs next to the bridge, and at the bottom of the final drop, on the grass.
15. Be careful when the car stops near the station - the stopping speed is comparable to that of AC on a day with 3 cars running.
16. It seemed like the only problems with the ride was the length of time it took for the cars to roll out of the station occasionally . It seemed like a small glitch, but it wasn't completely horrible.
17. The place was swarming with maintenance people and execs.

I think I covered everything. Sorry for the rant! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask on here or over PM.

RE: Verbolten

Yes just awesome and great but for me the video of Gertha I couldn't really hear what she was saying I thought they needed to turn the speakers up and the yellow train was on vacation yesterday so only the 4 coasters were on the track.

RE: Verbolten

Heres a on ride Video that i took last nite at about 8;00pm a little shaky. As i was worried about the maintenance people and execs that were hanging all around. But it gives you a great idea of what its like. As others have said it does make you a little light headed on a few turns inside the event building..
Enjoy

RE: Verbolten

Was thinking on heading up to the park this morning, does anyone know if Verbolten will be open with the park this morning or will it open later in the day. Just don't want to show up and wait around, I have been waiting for this ride for a long time. Glad to hear all the reviews are pretty good. Looks like Busch Gardens has another solid roller coaster in the line up.
