RE: Verbolten

It seems the delta from peak height to low point is 10 feet larger (perhaps 8 ft), the peak rider position, however, is another ~10 feet up and therefore ~20 feet higher than when approaching the drop on BBW. Restated, you will have a ~20' higher view from the top and drop ~10' more than on BBW.

RE: Verbolten

Saw the ads for Verbloated and the Hampton Roads Show last night. I guess I will see what they say on the show right now.

Drop track mentioned on Hampton Roads Show.

Drop over Rhine mentioned at 90 feet.

3 minutes stated by Giles on Hampton Roads show.

As we knew, 48" height requirement.

Kick March opening out. Late Spring, as has been said by reliable posters for a couple months now.

RE: Verbolten

^Well, that clarifies the where the whole "20 ft." thing came from. I still agree with the fact that it's really only 10ft. taller of a fall than BBW.

isnt it fun to talk like this to people who think apollo is 210 feet tall!? I LOVE explaining that its not that tall, but the drop is that big and then they call me stupid......
yeah I hate that people say that apollo was the tallest coaster in the park when it actually

The sad part of that is that most TM's think Apollo is the tallest coaster in the park

Busch also posted this a few days ago... see anyone you know?

RE: Verbolten

Quick Hard Hat tour question. What were they working on under the Itay - Germany bridge? Just routine maintenance or are they adding lighting projected towards the drop?

RE: Verbolten

Interesting thing I saw today. They mailed out there yearly calenders and on May's page was a big old picture of Verbolten. Think that pretty much clears up any arguments on when the ride will open.

There was a massive tarp hanging from the bridge, so maybe painting or something like that. Wouldn't think they would need the tarp for installing lights.

It appeared to be lighting

They did the same thing last year with mach tower... we all know how well that turned out... and BTW, late spring has always meant memorial day weekend... I think this will be no different

RE: Verbolten

They are probably cleaning/painting the bridge supports and such. Although they did have lighting on the drop area during the end of last season when the area was just dirt. Not sure if it was for construction purposes or if there was any other reason. But I am sure lighting the drop up could be possible, since it is one of the major highlights of the ride.

RE: Verbolten

My guess is painting as well. As you can see, they hadn't gotten to painting all of the beams for the bridge - some are brown and some aren't.

RE: Verbolten

Pertty much, it's going to look like an old bridge. We should see some real progress next week.

If we're lucky, all of the outdoor theming of the ride will be done by passmember day.
