Troubling news out of Hershey as the union and Hershey can’t come to an agreement on a contract. Currently the union employees, which include full time park employees and hotel, rejected hersheys third best and final offer for all the union employees. Over the next couple days they are voting on whether to go on strike. Definitely not good news since full time operations is right around the corner. I’ve attached the article detailing more. But definitely not looking good

Hersheypark in Pennsylvania could be forced to close this summer

Oh, major update on this front:

(WHTM) – Union workers at Hersheypark and the GIANT Center ratified a new contract on Friday, according to Hershey Entertainment & Resorts.

On Thursday, the Chocolate Workers Union confirmed that votes would be held on Friday and Saturday for new deals at the amusement park, arena, and The Hotel Hershey.

HE&R did not say whether Hotel Hershey employees had ratified a deal, or whether voting continues for those workers.

A spokesperson for HE&R says the deals are for five years with the union members.

“These long-term contracts reflect our partnership and commitment to continued investment in both our team members and our destination. We look forward to continuing to welcome guests to The Sweetest On Earth this summer as part of our 120th season.”
