Retractable LSMs..

Looks like they’re reusing the rollback brake fin casing shown in picture 2, to hold lsm’s before they interact with the train but what I don’t understand is this.

So they removed a launch that had a ton of downtime for moving parts

For a jank ass modification to a different launch with other moving parts making it more complicated.

Fucking why.

Anyways just six more days until we know what happens. I’m super hyped.

I think those are just retractable magnets for a brake section. B&M Mini-dives have them too.

Because you don't know what you're looking at. Those pieces with retractable brakes & drive tires are very likely for the end of the brake run, like what was previously on TTD. The last picture you posted is what will be the launch track, as it's equipped with the LSM electrical boxes. No stators yet, but you see where they'll go.

Not my drawing, but this is almost certainly what it will look like in the end. Flat sliding switch.

In case this hasn’t been brought up before: are the launch and brake tracks actually the old Intamin track retrofitted with LSMs and brake magnets?

Were people seriously speculating that Zamperla would be providing new launch track themselves? Looks like all they’re doing is track for the station, turn into station, track switch, and the alleged spike.

Surely there is some indication of who is doing the install? When RMC is starting a project there's RMC staff that are seen. Wouldn't that be the case for Zamperla, or whomever?

The launch & brakes are indeed the original TTD track. As for the Zamperla doing new launch track, that's not the craziest concept. They're capable of it, but reusing the old track was the way to go.

As for the install, Adena Corp are the ones unloading shipments, I assume they'll do the rest. They built Maverick back in the day (and still have the old heartline roll at their place in Ohio) & plenty more rides.

More track (with retractable brakes & drive tires) being installed at the end of the brake run, as of about an hour ago:

I may have missed it but has a new queue been identified yet to prevent parts flying off and striking guests?

Does anyone know if the post from Tony Clark he’s talking about is legit? And if it is, does this open the door again for it to possibly be Intamin?

Moving the queue so that pieces of the ride don't fly off and hit guests does not sound like the correct solution to that problem at all. I would hope they fix the ride so that pieces of it don't fly off, not move the queue so that the pieces don't hit people.

Ah, that channel. Fun. The Zamperla labels pictured on that site are probably leftovers from the Wild Mouse. Zamperla can still be (and is) behind this project. The two can be true simultaneously.

Check the tracking info on this container delivering supports. Shipped from La Spezia, Italy to New York, picked up on July 21, unloaded ~7am at Cedar Point on July 24, container returned back to New York later that day.

All that to say: the supports are coming from Italy, too. It's Zamperla (as if the placement of the brakes matching the new Lightning trains wasn't proof enough).

The website takes a while to load however, this confirms that zamperla is indeed working on top thrill dragster, and will now be known as “TOP THRILL 2”

The spike height is 420 ft tall, with three launches.
Update: seems zamperla pulled it from their site but someone put it on internet archive already

Update number 2: here’s the video of the fast track switch zamperla developed for the coaster

Keep in mind that some of the information on that page could be a placeholder. The page wasn't meant to be live yet so don't take it all as gospel just yet. This is especially true for the name. There's a fairly good chance Zamperla doesn't even know the name of the coaster they're building right now and they may have been intending to do a find and replace after Cedar Point's announcement and before the page was meant to go live on Zamperla's site.

Excellent find regardless though to whoever originally located the URL!

Assuming this wasn't planned, can we pour one out for the Zamperla marketing folks who are looking for new jobs this morning? What an incredible blunder—and on the single highest profile project imaginable for the company. "Just publish the page early!" they said. "It'll be fine!" they said.

Seriously though, this leak is a really impressive display of ineptitude. As a general rule, manufactures don't leak. In all my years, I don't think I've ever seen something like this from that side of this industry. Truly remarkably stupid. Let's hope they're better at hiring coaster designers than they are at hiring marketing professionals.

Alternatively, on the off chance that this is a honeypot, Cedar Point's and Zamperla's marketing folks deserve a serious raise. Imagine if they "leaked" a stupid name paired with no height or speed change deliberately and then announced an actually cool name with some North American records... That would be some high quality, 5D chess. I don't expect that level of sophistication from this industry, but fingers crossed I suppose—even if I do believe it to be remarkably unlikely.
