RE: This is Oktoberfest (1976 to 2011, 2013 to Present)

I must admit, I have seen this new show but only once in it's entirety and I must confess it is a very impressive show. It fits a dinning hall perfectly because there is no storyline. Also the audience interaction is quite amazing. I had so much fun with the Chicken Dance, swaying, and clapping. Still, as great as this show is, I just can't see myself planning my day around it. I still find it more as a side show than something to make sure to go see.

With that said, I did enjoy my one and only showing of the show in it's entirety.

That's exactly how it's supposed to be! A little German celebration in the beer hall to go along with the festivities, that's all. You're right on the money with that post, PR. Not a fairy tale journey .

I saw this show the other day and loved it, though it was a bit strange seeing it performed in a forest...plus, that stage dwarfed the cast (Get it? Get it??? "Dwarfed..." You know, 'cause of Entwined? Sigh, nobody gets me... :sleepy:)

I would've loved to have seen a line of nuns doing the Chicken Dance!! Come on man!! :p

Finally got a usable recording of this year's This is Oktoberfest. It's not the best show recording ever, but Das Festhaus is an exceedingly hard venue to film in.

Make sure you take note of just how into the show the guests are. Even though Das Festhaus was maybe 1/6th of the way full, everyone who was there seemed to be participating in some way or another. The park seems to be doing everything they can to sweep This is Oktoberfest under the rug and pretend like it doesn't exist, but the people who know it exists and get to experience it love it just as much as they always have. If This is Oktoberfest vanishes again in a few years due to "low show attendance" as I fully expect it to, the park will be fully to blame. They don't care about the show and thus, it will die. Mark my words.

This^..Maybe a little more advertising on the Festhaus, like that God awful Entwined sign? Maybe move the Entwined sign over and put a TiO sign just as big next to it? It was the same for Monster Stomp last year. I had no idea what it was just from the crap sign on the Globe. I honestly thought it was a kids Sesame Street Halloween show. Didn't see it, cause my wife and I came sans children.

What really makes me enjoy this show is that they change up what they do during the performance often. It keeps the Festhaus fresh so people don't get bored of seeing the same thing all the time.

Then Entwined throws all that out the window without a care in the world.

Thanks for the video Zachary. While I'm so happy to see the show back...it definitely needs it's OWN stage. Doesn't have to be the same as before (which was awesome), but something that says "TIO"...instead of "TIO/ENTWINED".

I saw this recently. Maybe I'm just a little too nostalgic, but I almost started crying in the middle of the show out of pure happiness. It may not be as big as it was before, but this still truly is Oktoberfest!

You're just a little too nostalgic ;)

Of course! ParkFans feed off of nostalgia, silly! And complaining about it missing keeps us strong, too... ;)

If there was ever ANY doubt that TIO is a popular show, check these out:

This was the audience tonight for the 7:30 show. Almost the entire hall was full. Still some seats available on the backside. I don't want to hear anything about it being dinner time. That other thing that shares the stage has its entire run during prime time lunch-eating hours (12-4). This was just so amazing to behold. Lots of people eating, singing, swaying, dancing. etc. etc. with BIG smiles on their faces. It's just not the same with that other show; no matter how many people are in the hall. Leave this alone BGW!! Why mess with a good thing?
I agree! The day I went, during entwined, it was almost empty! When we went to eat lunch (scheduled for TIO) we had issues finding a single seat on either side of the Festhaus! At least half of the people I spoke with said they were there just for the show! I'm still horribly mad at Scott for mentioning in his presentation that it was not a popular show! The Festhaus is NOT the same without this show!

RE: This is Oktoberfest (1976 to 2011, 2013 to Present)

This just popped into my mind. There is a big chance that TIO will not return next year. We all know Scott will do his best to keep this show from returning. And since the main season is starting to wrap up, and Night Beats will soon take its place, I just wanted to remind those people who aren't able to come every week, that next time you go, you should make it a priority to watch this before it's gone.

Now I know that it isn't a guarantee that it will be gone next year, but come on we all know who Scott is, and what he'll do to make sure that Entwined is the only show that will reign in the Festhaus. If TIO does not come back next year I will riot, and a lot of other people will too.
