Had this happen to a friend last year. After the third time he canceled his pass. The second time it happened he was threatened with an escort to his car and the JCC police officer was called over to get involved. The police officer led him to the entrance and ignored the security. That guard still worked there up until we canceled our passes this year. Might still be there. Big guy.

Not just that but hey guard I need your name and info so that when I file a complaint for violation of my rights under ADA we know who to personally go after.
On top of that why is there no wand that you can scan what you need to without resorting to all of this hand search and proof of scar?

They do have wands not sure if they can be used with a pacemaker but they do use them for other things.
From my experience of going in and out of airports with my nana, they can use them. All that card is supposed to notify a security person of is basically this will set off a walk through alarm, to use the want and expect it to go off in the left shoulder area.

EDIT:
Come to think of it, my dad had one too because he needed a metal plate in his chest after his bypass surgery and needed to get wanded at security because it was thick enough to set off metal detectors.

As someone in security at an airport, what the guard did is 1.) Wrong 2.) A violation of ADA 3.) Should have been handled at guest relations by a manager pinpointing the guard directly.

This is a theme park, not an airport weeks after 9/11. Whoever the company is that BG contracts needs a full re-training on proper ADA vetting procedures.

What the actual fuck are you trying to say? I pay for a membership every month that includes preferred parking so how is that "gaming every edge" or "getting benifits"? Have you not ever see how many cars that obviously dont pay for parking or to get into the park are stopped along route 60 on fireworks nights? What fucking money would the park have made off me if I walked into the park and watched the firewrks? We had something else going on and couldnt arrive at the park until right at 9pm anyhow.......what would the park made by me going inside to watch them? So I pay for parking, but im screwing over BGW by using it? Even if I did go inside there was probably no where open to purchase a snack. Give me a fucking break with your bullshit.
I believe you are believe you are being called “Karen”! Consistently complaining about how things should be handled and even when you had a positive experience you had to point out that it is a hit or miss situation. Also you mentioned getting 5 Busch bucks because something wasn’t running on on time, then mentioned it was like an insult! Just my two cents worth!
Aa

Yes…..actually a steep decline in every aspect of the park except cost……and that’s just increasing.
Sad but so true..Back in AB’s day the food was the best theme park food around, it was cooked daily on site and the prices were reasonable! Their bakery items were second to none. Now who the heck knows when it was cooked but you can tell it has been frozen at sometime and the ingredients are are not the best in quality! The same goes for their bakery items, their cheesecakes were baked, no at all like the Sara Lee type you get nowadays. It of course goes without saying the prices have gone through the roof while quality and taste have taken a nosedive! Busch is still one of my favorite parks if nothing else just for the beauty of the surroundings! KD is a very poor third!!

Random thing that I know may be a tad picky, but I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone mention here previously. I'm really not a fan of the new uniforms BGW employees have been wearing the last year or so. The old uniforms with the stripe that were colored by each hamlet were my favorite, but the blue flag ones from 2020-ish until last year weren't bad either. The new ones feel extremely uninspired and generic in my opinion though, literally only featuring the BGW logo. Every employee in the park wearing identical generic uniforms just doesn't seem very Busch Gardens-y to me.

Wait. Did they really change the uniforms AGAIN?! Jesus Christ they really don’t wanna pay for unique uniforms.

While I would love to see unique uniforms for each hamlet, I can understand the reasons behind generic (despite not agreeing). With staffing turnovers, size needs, and potential needs to move staff between hamlets.

Should they staff enough and pay enough to not need some of that? Absolutely. Do I get why they could be doing that? Sure.

Aesthetic wise, I preferred the original costumes to the park, or at least the ones in the 90s and 2000's. I worked there the last two years of those costumes and yeah, they were old, but there was a charm to having costumes specific for each village. The bowling shirts were comfy, we didnt have to keep them tucked in, but they felt more generic and less inspired than the old ones. From a guest standpoint, it now feels more like a six flags park with the whole park wearing the same uniform than the custom designed shirts of the past.

Yep. This is a picture of the newer ones they've been using. By far my least favorite of the styles I remember. (Pic from a promotional video the park posted with an employee talking about F&W fest. I'm not taking random photos of employees lol)

What a crazy world we live in where KD is the one putting out unique, thematically appropriate uniforms while BGW is the one resorting to generic ones.

Does Pompeii still have its themed uniforms? I remember several years ago, the ops for Pompeii and (at the time) DarKastle still wore their ride’s original themed uniforms when the rest of the park switched to the bowling shirts.

As someone who has worn the bowling shirt from the early aughts, the blue one with the flag stripe that was recently retired, and the newest shirt as an employee in different weather conditions, I can say that I prefer the newest one. It breathes really well, as the material reminds me of Under Armor golf shirt. It's stretchy and light. The previous one was not as bad, but way too thick in the summer, and the old bowling shirts....once you sweat in that thing or got it wet, that was how it was gonna be the rest of the day.
