Dude this put me on the floor, entirely as if you meant it as a joke I'm not laughing at you making that mistake if you did but holy shit that was funny
Heck, if they went the Busch route, they could also develop a new park and license the name from the latest Zoe Kravitz project...

I definitely wish Herschend could wrestle BGW and BGT from SEAS but Scott Ross told them to screw off clearly unaware how good that would be for the parks and the guests……..oh something about his portfolio ah right……

So @BGWnut said something in the BGT Screaming Swing thread that made me think of something. They mentioned if BGW is a testing ground it’s because of how good their design and engineering team is at getting rides done.

Just makes me think about how much of the goings on are just, out of their control. I really feel as though there’s a lot of departments that still care about the place and many employees that do, but their hands are just….tied.

Makes me feel for those employees that have been there a long time, care, but just…can’t do what we wish they would due to budgetary constraints.

I do vaguely remember hearing that BGW’s creative team has always been amazing, however they’re constrained within the budgets of whatever project they’re given. If this is the case, it sounds like Burgermeister’s Hideaway was now Busch budgeted rather than SEAS budgeted. It’s clear that they want to keep this kind of thing going, however SEAS has other plans.

TLDR- park has less creative control because seas won’t give it to them

1000% this. Corporate is not only being very tight on budget choices but also things such as the opening of the 2020 rides. This along with laying off everyone in late 2020 leading to many getting jobs elsewhere.

The good staff are getting burnt out and leaving, and the remaining staff are new staff that either don't care or are on board with the "is it technically legal?" attitude, or are individuals who have no ability to impact the situation and can only hope to weather the storm.

The Busch family did go in together to buy Grants Farm and hired Doug Stagnard from Sea World to run it.
Also member(s) of the family do own a Craft Brewery still in Missouri:

Anheuser-Busch must still exist in some form. The Grant's Farm website lists it as the premier sponsor since 2021.

You are pretty spot on. There's a lot of people at BGW specifically that really care and want to their best. Which they do, but unfortunately they are constrained by decisions made by corporate.

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but this is what I’m picking up from these observations: KD‘s corporate, especially with the new president, is allowing drastic improvements to the park. Meanwhile, the decisions of BG’s corporate is allowing for no improvements.

Sounds about right to me!

I would say it’s more like KD is getting told to come up with the improvements then a budget will be approved, and BGW is getting told “here’s a budget and 80% needs to go to this, make what you can with the rest.”

This seems to be pretty accurate on the BGW side. They just have to work within the budgets they are given.

I don't think that is entirely a fair statement in regards to BGW. We actually saw a ton of fairly expensive infrastructure work last year. New bridge deck on the Loch Ness tressel, new deck on part of the October Fest bridge, new paving of the docks, new covering shade structure at Groggan's Grill, and of course the hideaway just to name a few.

And I’ll add: paving and doing a new bridge deck and incredibly expensive for what it is.

Now if only they could allocate that money to the parking lots and actually make the lines on them visible…

Oh and pave them too.
