Is LNM still operating with one train ops today? Went to Both KD and BGW yesterday and it was far and away the longest wait of the day. That includes waiting for front row on Twisted Timbers, which was also only running one train.
It was. Rode it around 6pm and waited 5 mins for it, most gates had 4-6 people waiting.

Nessie is such an odd beast. It’s generally speaking, the most consistently short wait in the park along with Alpengeist in my experience. It’s weird because Nessie is one of 2.5 family coasters, right in the middle of 3 different paths, and easy to see. It also has slow ops, a middle of the road capacity, and is often running suboptimal numbers of trains.

I generally go to BGW as a single so I’ll give my own POV of why Nessie isn’t that bad:

When I got on any of the 4-wide coasters at BGW as a single, sometimes not even a group of 2 want to fill in on my row. So you end up with an entire row just holding one person. But on Nessie/VBolt - the trains are long enough that if I’m solo plenty of people are still riding the same train so it’s less open seats. Heck even on Griffin I tend to end up with empties on either side unless the ride op is being aggressive about filling trains.

hinting that you know something

Yes.

I don't know how much is finalized so I don't want to get too specific yet, but from what I have heard from multiple sources, money is slated to flow to Nessie very soon. There are also multiple other projects currently being pitched internally in a simular vein. Hopefully those find funding as well.

Alright folks, I raided Zachary's files and discovered what's happening.

They are shutting down Loch Ness and turning it into an Oceaneering Entertainment Systems dark ride starting Lochwig trying to keep you in his castle.

In 15 years it will then become the home of Lochbite, a haunted house.

Stop getting my hopes up

Let me know when it becomes Lochoaster.

My personal heresy is to remake it as a multi launch coaster that travels the length of the Rhine and even out to apollo with instead of interlocked incredibly tiny loops you could do interlocked massive corkscrews spanning from one side of the rhine to the other. What crazy views and sensations that would be. Can you do corkscrews as a flying coaster? Could still do a drive by through part of the cave...and maybe some of other nostalgia. But its a pipe dream.

Yeah... Don't think the original ride structure would exist anymore if they did this. Also, I'd imagine they'd have fun trying to get all the necessary permits for that.

God forbid you paint it. Not even just visually, but it's generally good to minimize exposure to wear and weathering before painting. Paint is more than visual, it helps protect the metal.
