It doesn't detract much from how uncomfortable the situation is, but if we're going for the slightest glimmer of hope (I'd like to), that train almost certainly wasn't running again this season either way. The left side of the station is no longer used for dispatches, and with another train currently sitting in front of it, that one would be the odd man out even if they wanted to run the current maximum of 3.
It's also baffling to me why they wouldn't reopen Zumanjaro at this point if a removal is indeed in the cards. Many of us love that ride too, and the park is about to be filled to the brim with guests for the last two weekends of Fright Fest.
Just out of curiosity, why would they be removing seatback covers from an unused train to prepare for the ride's closure? Wouldn't they just take the train off? If the ride is imminently scheduled for permanent closure, why bother with something like this?

Flash as an addition only makes sense as in combination to their established lineup. It can reduce the sting when something has to be removed later, but first there needs to be that bump of attendance and interest to make it work. And of course allowing a last rides period would also be beneficial. Unless there is some new cost, closing Ka before the end of next summer almost CAN'T make financial sense, because it pulls the rug out from under their latest investment.
I noticed that extending the launch for LSMs would probably require moving the station, but also would allow moving the brakes and fully utilizing the airtime hill due to the extension. I still think that there's a good chance that Intamin's price on anything of this magnitude is a show-stopper, not just relative to Zamperla but the perceived cost/value of a new B&M product.

They were using Zumanjaro's station as a secondary park entrance last Saturday. They've set up metal detectors, a full x-ray bag scanner, and everything in there for the security checkpoint. Zumanjaro looked completely intact and like it could open at any second if they wanted to, but with all the stuff in place for a secondary park entrance, I worry there's no chance we'll see it this fall.
That's wild IMO because it's so far away from the rest of the park. It comes off as a test IMO of how likely it is that people would use that. Especially with these rumors of Zum, KK, and GL all being removed in the same offseason.
So I'm going to throw a wild theory out there:
SFGA has some of the most land in the new combined SF chain, has one of the more complete coaster line ups, and a separate water park. What if - and hear me out - they decided to make this a multi-gate resort?
Before you say much, they have everything from DC->NYC to pull from as a market. Like I said they have a full park. They have multiple IP's they can now pull from with DC, Looney Toons, Peanuts to do more.
So here's the thought:
SFGA becomes a fully DC themed gate. Just everything DC related. A Gotham, Metropolis, Star City, Themascyra, all the major DC Comics cities. And in there you do DC/Looney Tunes as the kid area since there is source material for this.
Then you overhaul Hurricane Harbour to make it fresh and new.
And the new park starts out kid friendly. Peanuts only theme park. Think a Sesame Place but with Peanuts. And that goes on the far side of Switlick Lake.
Then in between you put your resort hotel. Something really nice, with a luxury wing, family value wing themed to LT, a luxury family wing themed to Peanuts, and a value wing themed to DC comics. Your new parking goes all around this. And in the parking lot to the main entrance to SFGA, you make an entertainment/food/shopping district similar to City Walk.
Oh I'm already too late for the doom and gloomers, but yeah when I worked at the park in 2016 they replaced the seats this exact same way when the green train went through refurbishment.
Call me when a crane shows up by the hydraulic room, that's when you know shit's going down.
Actually the covers being off the train might be a good thing for next year, as there was also a fourth train (Orange) on the transfer track. With a fourth train visible, it most likely means they are swapping trains for rebuild. If the ride was being removed in the next couple of weeks, why would they bother putting a train on the track?
If this ride is to stay long term, more people need to ride it, yesterday I got four almost no wait rides in before the ride got a line, and that was with one train operation. (There was a second train ready to go, but it took the place of the first train when it had an issue shortly after the park opened.) Yes, I know it was a Thursday, but it was busy enough for Wonder Woman to have a full queue for much of the day; and Traffic was still heavy leaving the parking lot fourty-five minutes after park close.
That's good info and I'm happy to hear it. The only part of the teal train improvement/repaint process I personally saw was the tail end in-season prep work, so I wasn't sure whether seat removals were standard occurrences during refurbishment. It's nice to know that option is still in play.
My guess would be when something is actually happening other than YouTubers making videos of rumors.
The only 811 tickets that have been called in lately are for gas service work over near The Flash. I wouldn't call it over just yet.
I would think with Holiday in the Park setup getting ready to commence that there are other possibilities depending on how far reaching these markets are.
Why would the markers extend towards Green Lantern though? These kinds of markers only ever appear for construction related purposes, they're useless otherwise
I have seen two other sources saying that they all match an existing communication line that is planned for replacement during the off season and not ride related.
Don’t read anything into it— ANY kind of construction (restrooms, stands, etc) would require markings like this. Also “future” developments (beyond 2025) might require surveyors to mark things up.
