Why is it that right before we get bad news on a BGW ride, someone on here always predicts it, gets downvoted, then turns out to be right? This is the third time in 3 years 💀

Because there are park employees on here playing damage control and gaslighting people.

Also a couple of the big columns were accidentally knocked down last year and I don't think they've been replaced. It's not just the rides that need attention in that area - the theming does too.
THIS is why I blame Kevin. One ride going away is fine, but we’re now up to 3. The broken column also massively pissed me off with the park doing nothing about it. They do not care to PRESERVE, with Loch Ness being the exception.

The dislike reaction is not a Reddit-style "downvote." The thumbs-down is frequently used to convey that someone personally dislikes the theory put forward, not necessarily to mean that the theory put forward is wrong. The posts cited all received mixed reactions but I don't think the reactions on any of them convey that people disbelieve the theory—just that they dislike the fact that ______ may be happening.

Much more appropriate to look at the responses and see who (if anyone) pushed back on the theories and what their justification was for doing so.

Because there are park employees on here playing damage control and gaslighting people.

You do realize Kevin Lembke doesn't just hit up "Attraction Amazon" with his credit card to buy shit on a whim, right? Turns out there's this whole corporate appropriations process where capital expenditures have to be proposed, reviewed, refined, and judged based on an array of metrics.

BGW has been in discussions with ride manufacturers for years now about a Cradle replacement. I'm confident discussions are already occuring re: replacing The Flying Machine. Whether or not BGW is ultimately allowed to pull the trigger on any of these has nothing to do with BGW though and everything to do with suits up at corporate.

I was driving down from northern Virginia yesterday from visiting friends during rush hour (big mistake), and my dad called me while I was driving and told me that he had news.

Me: “is it good or bad news?”

Dad: “it’s bad for all of us.”

He then told me that the Flying Machine was closing, but the way he presented the news made it sound like the fucking world was ending 😂

I wonder what alternate universe it could’ve been in Cradle had been the one to be saved (originally, back when they had to choose) and flying machine disappeared before.

We would have lost both in the end either way. Both had significant parts issues that since they are out dated and unsupported models required expensive custom made parts. Unfortunately in both cases the issues were not found till they were closed for maintenance and thus no precloser and last ride.
