I say run it right or don't run it.
Busch Gardens is not a museum to rides that once were. I get that there are some rides, like the Carousel that were procured due to their age and are lovingly restored. That's great, that is why they are there and frankly in that case it is the restoration that provides their entertainment value. (it is certainly not their speed) However in a case like the Flying Machine, speed is the point.

Having a ride that is basically unreadable makes it basically SBNO. That's great if you are running a museum it sucks for an amusement park.

The idea that Flying Machine is "unridable" is ludicrous. It's a family flat ride instead of a thrill ride. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I agree. I have a severe height phobia. I don't ride roller coasters. And this ride is one of my favorites. It doesn't set off my anxiety. I hope it comes back soon!

Not every ride in a park needs to be a thrill ride!

Seconding this. Before I could do coasters, heights were an issue, to the point that Triple Spin / Bad Apple was too much for me. This looks like it doesn't go as high.

I see no reason why this ride should be removed. It fits the theme of the land, has a low height requirement, and can operate in the cold which is extremely important as the park moves towards a year-round schedule. As a kid I absolutely adored the ride, it was my favorite for several years, but even now many years later I still love this ride. There's something really fun about looking like you're going to crash into the trees near Da Vinci's Cradle or hurtle into the roof of the queue house for Flying Machine. The dark browns and beiges of the ride are timeless and fit nicely as a backdrop against the colorful flowers and green shrubbery (when landscaping is not furloughed lol). It's just a nice flat for everyone in the family, not every ride needs to pull nearly 5g's and put your body on the verge of greying out consistently.

I did mention the thought that they could be running it at lower power/lower intensity as a way to extend the life of the ride, where I guess you could get an implication that it's dying and on the way out as-is by making a few assumptions.

And as much as it would be fun for The Flying Machine to be more thrilling, I rode this ride ALL THE TIME when I was a little kid and I love that it’s a family-friendly area. I think Italy has always been a place parents can count on as a great area to rest and let their kids play. If I didn’t have much time to be at the park, my mom would sometimes just let me ride some rides in Italy than go home. Also, you just have to go over to Festa Italia for 2-soon to be 3- roller coasters... it’s perfect!

They have completely fenced off Flying Machines and the view from the train shows no new work. I am actually a little worried about its future.

Rip flying machine, I really liked that ride when it was faster
I am not saying that it's going. I want to be very clear I have NO direct information that it's going just that it looks concerning.

Generally speaking the park wouldn't be putting in fencing to take care of routine maintenance - not knowing anything about parts suppliers I'm curious if something broke that couldn't be relatively easily replaced

It's been down with the ride vehicles removed the entire time that area has been open so I think routine maintenance is unlikely at this point

With the second park being open daily, maybe they are just trying to fence off the ride while they rebuilt it to prevent guest photos. They did the same thing with Mach Tower. I’m thinking it will be up sooner rather than later. Just a privacy fence in my opinion

This is my take too. They've been putting up and taking down fences like crazy lately.
