Things are not great here and I figured it deserved its own thread. Don't get me wrong, it's not godawful and you can absolutely still have a good day here - hell I had one of my best days in a while, but it's a far cry from where it should be.

Based off my experiences today... er, yesterday at time of posting, I suppose I'll start with the positives, generally excluding opinions:
  • The entire Spain and Mexico areas open about a half-hour before the park! We were on and off Tormenta before the ropes even dropped.
  • Tormenta's operations are stellar. It was on two trains, crowds were fairly light so not a problem, and they were sending trains so damn fast I thought it was down to one a couple times.
  • Most operating coasters were on 2 trains, even Aquaman and Judge Roy Scream!
  • The food at the All-American Cafe is stellar, and the portions are very generous.
  • The beautification in the entry plaza and western half of the park are wonderful and much appreciated. The Southern Palace has never looked so good.
  • Pirates of Speelunker Cave is hysterical and has wonderful A/C. I wish the story was... a lot clearer... but it has bizzare charm in spades and a healthy dose of Arrow Jank. Great way to beat the heat.
But on the other hand...
  • The operations just about everywhere that's not Tormenta are... suboptimal, shall we say? Very leisurely across the board. Lines that should have taken 5 mins took 10-15 consistently.
  • Speaking of flats, Superman was on one tower today and with the ridiculous lap belt it has, dispatches... take a while.
  • All the major coasters (excl Tormenta) opened late... or not at all, which we'll get to in a bit. One of the ops on the antique cars (Dinos Alive at home) said they were hella understaffed, which makes sense... and to that I say, hire less school-age teenagers!
  • Judge Roy Scream is a heap of shit and needs to fucking die. It's so bad it's hilarious. If you must ride it, ride in the front row of the white train. We did front and back on white, then back on red because the ride op said that train ran smoother (it didn't). If it must live, get the fucking Gravity Group in here and give it some precut fucking track. The way it runs right now is, full stop, unacceptable.
  • Shockwave is down. Been down just about all season. No transparency. Don't know when it'll be back - supposedly still needs work/a part. Just say something about it!
  • Mr. Freeze was... checks notes "temporarily unavailable due to high temperatures". The sign out front said as much. It's absolutely mind-boggling that one of the park's signature coasters, one that got a bunch of money pumped into it this year and was heavily advertised, has been closed for MOST OF THE SUMMER - seems to have last operated on June 23rd. Seriously, at this rate, just tear it down (or give it fuckin' LSMs, but I somehow don't see that happening).
  • Maintenance as a whole is questionable, it seems. Giant only went to two trains last week, Titan has been a problem child all summer, it as mentioned opened late and was not operating for most of the day. Glad we chose to do it early.
  • The fucking Mine Train and Runaway Mountain were on one train! What the fuck!
  • Where is Flume 2? They said it was closed due to Tormenta construction, but that's been open a solid month now and there are zero signs of life from it. Was it just... determined to be cheaper to not operate it for the rest of the year?
  • The whole east side of the park needs the beautification that the west side got. It's blacktop city over there and there's nary a tree in sight.
  • Justice League was closed. Actually, that might be a net positive.
I won't bore you all with the full trip report nonsense, this isn't the place for that, but this is worth sharing: we got stuck on Titan's lift!! It's apparently policy to have your hand over the E-stop button, and we're pretty sure the ride op's hand slipped and pushed it. He was a total queen, he came on the mic with nervous laughter and a "my bad y'all!". Isabelle from maintenance - also a queen - quickly came out and got everything sorted... although I have to agree with her assessment of "too many goddamn steps!!"

My hope is that the park is able to get things in order by Fright Fest. That's our busiest time of year and if things are still fucked then, there should absolutely be hell to pay.

Honestly im suprised by the fact most are running 2 trains atp lol, our saving graces this year have been "look at our new giga di e!" And "at least we're not universal kids resort!"
I hear that the mantinance budget got slashed for this year, that it got (or will probably get) raised or next year, and most of the mantinence so far this year has been towards Tormenta. So maybe 2027 could be SFoT's year (I am hoping at least lol). Woulda been great while everyone was here for tormenta or fifa and all but y'know. Maybe they will also have Shockwave news by then xp.

There is a floodplain development permit (2026 062351 000 00 FDP) from July 27th for "flume 2 backflow swap".
