Well judging by Evans picture, I am fairly certain there will be more than just flowers like a giant bug of some sort here and there. We may see the occasional bug, but nothing too over the top.

Exactly. To me this event is much more of the park's response to the Food & Wine Festival than it is Illuminights. In other words, classy- not tacky.

From Kings Dominion's Facebook page. A person was asking about this event and this is the park's response:

Facebook question: "What is spring festival going to be like?"

Kings Dominion: "We will "grow" into this event as it evolves, but this year we will focus on spring theming and flowers along International Street with some food and entertainment tied into it. Should be fun and something we are excited about!"

This makes me think of the golden years with the faces of Fred Flintstone and George Jetson flawlessly created with shrubbery and flowers in quite the grand fashion! I'll look for a picture.

After a week, I finally found a picture of the cartoon landscaping I remember. This is probably the most artistic thing I have ever seen at KD throughout the years. They were along the east side of the entrance by the season pass processing center. There were always different characters out there. Fred Flintstone, Scooby, Capt' Caveman, etc... and obviously Huckleberry Hound :) The reason they stopped doing stuff like this is most likely because of people like the parents of these kids. I mean really...Some guy probably worked on this for a whole day or two! Go on kids, get up there and tromp around in the flowers while we take a picture. Sheesh.

Ruh-roh. Looks like the Bunny Trail has spread to Kings Dominion. Not sure what to think of this... :s

Just didn't want to be called a "hypocrite" again by praising them. :p

They're 2 different parks, I have different expectations for both. I shouldn't have to fear being called a hypocrite, just because I posted what I think.

Agreed. This does fit the "plant" and "bloom" theme they are going for. Put them in a place where there used to be trees, put big googly eyes on them, and make them have a disco light effect- then we'll have a problem.

Too bad, you guys are hypocrites. Everything I've seen so far today is either just the same as BGW. The mushrooms are worse because the animals on Bunny Trail don't do anything, they're just there and can be ignored.

Um. Excuse you, but unless you were at press day today, you have absolutely no idea what the Singing Mushrooms are like, or how they fit in with their surroundings, etc. You sir are jumping to conclusions with no proof from anyone, then you have the nerve to criticize us. Sound familiar anyone?

I really haven't experienced rudeness like this in a long time.

lol, man... I don't think you get it. Are the mushrooms loud? If you consider music coming from a speaker loud, then yes.

Are they out of place? No way! The mushrooms originally "lived" in a nook between Hanna Barbera Land and Candy Apple Grove. Candy Apple Grove is themed to an old-fashioned amusement park is a whimsical apple orchard.

Ugly looking? I don't even...

Also, I find what it hypocritical that you call people hypocrites when you yourself are being one. You say you like the completely out-of-place creatures at BGW- but hate on these. Hmm...

This is in the Kings Dominion forum, don't bring Busch Gardens into this. They are two different park, two different ideas and management, and shouldn't be compared. A couple things here and there is ok, but don't revolve everything around how BGW does it. This also goes for things in BGW forum. Keep that discussion in the KD vs. BG thread, please!
