Hearing that there is another round of layoffs happening at Six Flags. I’m hearing corporate in particular has been hit pretty hard (especially the entertainment side of things). Unsure if KD is impacted at all, but I know some full-time roles at the park level at other parks have been eliminated. Anyone know more about this?

Man, they already seem to have a skeleton crew. With more layoffs coming to a company with a staff made up of only bones, they're going to have to start chopping off limbs. 😳

It definitely happened. Unsure of the scale, but yeah, definitely layoffs in the offices.

Selfishly, I hope Ryan Eldredge’s name hasn’t been thrown around at all. Not to gloss over what a colossal loss Siebert would be, and I hope it’s not true of course, but Ryan’s been paramount in the seemingly impossible act of turning the public image of Great Adventure around and it would be absolutely horrendous for him to not be able to see his efforts pay off firsthand.

He was still posting about one of his Texas parks (Schlitterbahn) on X as of yesterday afternoon, if that means anything.

Bridgette Bywater coming back to KD directly conflicts with their reporting today that KD will not have a park president. It also directly conflicts with the rumor that she’s going to Carowinds.

Unless they mean a previous role before KD?

Edit: Her previous roles before KD were at Worlds of Fun and Geauga Lake… both of which are roles that are impossible to return to.

I keep hearing Bridgette for Caro, not KD.

I’m thinking it could be part of the big rumour that Herschend want to buy Fiesta Texas and Dorney Park, so maybe Siebert has quit so he can join Herschend?

I don’t know what his role would be, I’m thinking he could get his job as park president back at a Herschend-owned Fiesta Texas, but I’m also thinking possibly higher up the executive hierachy but I don’t know what his role would be?

Ah, I just read the rumor that he resigned - that makes much more sense. It would be incredible if he could be president at Fiesta Texas under Herschend. That would be possibly the best case scenario.

I can’t believe that Six Flags wiuld have laid off Siebert so my best bet is he’s quit/defected as part of the Herschend talks and Six Flags don’t want to admit that one of their brightest talents has gone to the new competition?

QUESTION: Can Herschend be called tye new competition? As in the old Six Flags vs Cedar Fair has become Six Flags vs Herschend?
