Six Flags Great America's 2026 Fright Fest lineup has been released! Two new houses this year!

Houses

  • NEW: Blair Witch: No Signal
  • NEW: Nightmares
  • The Conjuring Universe
  • SAW: Legacy of Terror
  • The Estate at Wretched Meadows
Nightmares is described as containing "terrifying dreamscapes filled with twisted clowns, crawling spiders, disorienting illusions, deranged doctors, and scenes of brutal carnage." The two new houses are replacing Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Picnic Grove 2024-2025) and Big Top Terror (Kidzopolis 2017-2025), though I'm not sure which will be where. This means the total house count stays at 5.

Scare Zones

  • RETURNING: Necropolis
  • Forbidden Forest
  • Head Bangerz
  • Lost Souls
  • Oddities: Circus of Madness
  • Underworld
  • Wretched Meadows
Henchmen Alley in DC Universe is no longer in the lineup, as well as the Los Muertos area in Southwest Territory (technically a scare zone, though with dancers instead of scare actors).

Necropolis is returning for the 50th anniversary, previously running from 2006 to 2014. This was a walk-through attraction located in Picnic Grove. At the "heart" of Necropolis was the entrance to the former Mausoleum of Terror haunted house, running from 1991, the start of Fright Fest at the park, to 2014. It ran for 21 seasons, which the Fright Fest wiki claims is the longest-running house at any Six Flags park. Gates of Hell took its spot from 2015 to 2023, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre was placed there during 2024 and 2025. It's interesting that they're bringing it back without its haunted house tie-in, but perhaps that's what Nightmare will become. I do hope it's well tied into the area and not a completely unrelated IP house.

Shows

  • NEW: Masquer-RAVE
  • NEW: The Velvet Quarter
  • The Uprising: Nightly Call of the Dead
  • Procession of Nightmares (parade)
  • The Ringmaster's Cabaret: The Ringmaster's Revenge
  • Love at First Fright
  • Wake the Dead
  • The Wraths
  • The Pumpkin King (every 15m in the entry plaza)
The new Masquer-RAVE appears to be a sequel to Wake the Dead, continuing the story of Witchie. The only show not returning seems to be Nightmare Rhythm Machine on Hometown Stage.

Looks like a really nice lineup of things this year! I'm looking forward to it!

Eight shows during Fright Fest is CRAZY…
SFGAm has been pulling out all the stops for entertainment this year. They were running 6 different live shows, a documentary show, and 4 different parades every day over the summer, for a total of 20 performances of 11 shows per day (and that was with their main performance venue unavailable due to renovation!). Seriously impressive stuff!!

The park has filed permits for the houses and for the conversion of Chubasco! The locations in the permits confirm that the new Blair Witch house will be placed in Kidzopolis where Big Top Terror was last year, and Nightmares will be located in the Necropolis scare zone in Picnic Grove where Texas Chainsaw Massacre was last year (as I hoped, since this works the best for thematic integration with the Necropolis area!).

The website for Terror Twister 2: A Turn For The Worse (the park's Fright Fest conversion of the Chubasco teacups ride) has had its website updated with the new programs for 2026! The ride soundtrack page has not yet been updated, so we don't yet know the songs or program numbers for the new programs. Note that the names of the programs often do not correlate with the actual name of the song.

Tracks removed:
  • 4: "Wolves of Darkness" by Mark Z., 2022 (Run and Hide - Hysta)
  • 9: "Crazy Never Dies" by Jack D., 2022 (Crazy Mega Cool - Paul Elstak & Russian Village Boys)
  • 13: "My Invisible Friend" by Joshua V., 2022 (Invisible Friend (Da Tweekaz Remix) - Sarah de Warren, LIZOT, Max + Johann, Paradigm)
All three tracks were from the opening-6pm daytime playlist, as opposed to the 6pm-closing "Los Muertos" playlist. These removals leave "Beethoven Is Dead" by Jack D as the only remaining 2022 program, and the oldest other than "Loco Siesta" by Mark Z., which was originally from 2017 but rebooted in 2025.

Tracks added:
  • "Join the Scarecrow" by Mark Z.
  • "Its Only A Dream" by Joshua V.
  • "Vamos A La Playa" by Joshua V.
  • "Like A Hurricane" by Jack D.
  • "Rock This Party" by Jack D.
  • "Burn" by Jackson V.
  • "Rest In Peace" by Jackson V.
Also note that later in the 2025 season, "Chubasco: Violent Squall" was added, a program co-designed by Mark Z. and Jackson V. and with a custom-produced soundtrack for the ride. This should be its first full Fright Fest of inclusion in the ride.

Edit 9/9: more programs have been added to the page! I've updated this list.

We don't see anywhere near enough seasonal overlays of rides like this. Love that Great America pits this much thought and consideration into this element of Fright Fest!
