I don't think we should base what the park is getting 2 years from now on vague concept art from a survey. It says when you take the survey that its just a concept and nothing's set in stone yet.

I've taken surveys from SF before and sometimes they implement the feedback and sometimes they don't.

At the very least, wait until they move dirt or make a formal statement before placing judgement.

I don't know any of the coaster tubers I watch even put KA/TTD in their top 20s/30s lol Like ive been saying, a ride like orion gets negativity but they all rank a ride like that extremely high. They could replace Ka with a orion clone and all around would be a better ride than Ka to most people.

There was a giga dive coaster shown in that same survey, and OT is now getting a record breaking dive coaster for 2026. It's not looking great.

That doesn’t mean anything. Who knows what ends up happening

The press release says "record breaking dive coaster", not "giga dive coaster".

It could mean anything from a record breaking Hangtime clone to a 300 foot B&M dive machine.
I mean…..Im really hoping for the 300ft Dive Machine as we’ve been waiting for one for years. But I agree that it could be anything in that matter.

Where were y'all when people were ragging on KK being too rough and gimmicky?

Like literally a few months ago people were still saying the ride is rough and not as good as TTD. They've been saying that since the ride opened.

KK isn't even the best launch coaster in Jersey and its definitely not the best coaster on that side of the park (I don't even consider it to be top 5 in the state). I think whatever replaces it has potential to be that. If its a spinning coaster, well Ride to Happiness is a stellar top 10 coaster and if its a 400 ft version of that, I'd be down to ride as many times as I can. If its gonna be a 400 ft blitz, that would be incredible. Even a big dipper or striker coaster would be incredible for that plot of land. I'd reserve my judgement for when the park makes an announcement.

I'm very much of the opinion that Ka wasn't great. I think a comparison to Volcano is very apt honestly. I didn't think either were great, but they were both unique and absolutely iconic attractions that were synonymous with their respective parks. I think it's reasonable for a removal like that to sting a lot more than the quality of the ride alone would suggest.

That said, honestly, I know many will disagree, but I've already come around to being okay with that 400ft spinning shuttle coaster as a replacement for Ka. Ride time should be longer, it will feature more elements, it is wholly unique, it's insane, and it's huge. That checks all the boxes Ka did, no? I don't know what replacement people could possibly be looking for that would be better.

I'm an infamous defender of Busch Gardens Williamsburg's Drachen Spire plans at this point and for the same reasons I came to really appreciate that project, I think I'll be a top defender for this spinner concept too. Whatever park builds it will receive an insane, unique, future icon of an attraction. It wouldn't be Ka when it opens, but when it becomes a maintenance nightmare 19 years later and the park removes it without notification, it will certainly be the Ka of 2043. For a park that's losing a current icon, a future icon sounds like a win to me.

If they bring back the golden kingdom to its original glory, Im not going to be too upset about what they replace it with. I have faith it will be something great. Many newer enthusiasts dont know what the golden kingdom was like when Ka first opened. It was absolutely stunning and unlike anything seen at a six flags park, even to this day. It truly felt next level and all of the forums were ablaze with talk of the rest of the park getting a similar treatment. That kind of happened with plaza de carnival but it stopped there. I hope Ka's removal will allow for this to happen.

I truly believe that the future of american amusement parks will be much different. It wont be a race to the sky. It will be about experiences. You can have an incredible ride at half the height. Look at the newer european coasters. Hell, look at maverick. Cedar Flags knows they can have top tier rides with a fraction of a headcahe.

My thoughts on Ka's replacement: Vekoma or Intamin Launch coaster. The records being broken will be more trivial records than highest and fastest (airtime moments, etc) but that whole area will be revitalized. From there, the boardwarlk area will either be incorporated into this new and improved golden kingdom and superman will be rethemed to match. there have been rumors that the DC license will be allowed to expire.

And for the future, I think we will see themed areas be expanded and otheres removed. The pine barrens area by jersey devil just makes too much sense to have in a park thats located within the pine barrens. I think nitro and maybe batman will be incorporated as well.

i agree that the theming NEEDS improvement. even with the work they did for the 50th, the whole west side of the park is in rough shape, between boardwalk, golden kingdom, plaza, and and frontier. would be amazing to see these things get addressed.

Remember this survey from the summer for GADV? It seemed weird in hindsight, but now I realize it was no accident. THIS is the Ka replacement. Not anything else. “Multi-world-record-breaking?” World tallest spinning coaster, worlds fastest spinning coaster, worlds first upside-down launch. And its still a strata, so it’s will be fine enough for gp probably. IDK how it could be anything else.

That will be a capacity nightmare. Perhaps intentional to spur fast pass sales?

My whole thing with this situation is I don't understand the thought process. If this shuttle really is the Ka replacement then the capacity is going to be an absolute nightmare even if there is a turntable, if they have plans of making Great Adventure the "Carowinds/Kings Island of the merger" this is a TERRIBLE idea. Ka had many flaws but low capacity wasn't one of them, it needed that high capacity because it was the reason people traveled to Great Adventure. Then on top of all of that this thing can't be cheap, Mack is just as expensive as B&M and you can't tell me that having the marketing title of "worlds tallest spinning coaster" really makes a huge difference here. I don't doubt they could build a giga in this spot if they wanted to and the increased price tag would have been perfectly acceptable given the better ride experience, high capacity, and incredible reliability. Time will tell if this is the actual replacement, but if it is....wow this such a huge miss.
