VERY positive move for all the parks affected.

Guess we know which fully-owned, dry, Six Flags parks are in the bottom tier of the post-Enchanted chain too now, yeah?
  • Discovery Kingdom
  • DorneyPark
  • Fiesta Texas
  • Kings Dominion
  • Mexico
  • New England
Did I miss anything?

There are a ton of murmuring around this for a week now.. Fiesta and Schlitterban is a super interesting situation. With Siebert being the regional manager which also had Over Texas, one would think he might move to Over Texas as the president but as far as im hearing, he turned that position down and wants to stay in San Antonio. But this all raises a bigger question. If Six Flags has chosen these ten parks as their main investments.. I would not be surprised if There are some sales being explored or bid on, especially the higher performing ones.

or maybe he's moved to different park, I mean, the news said the parks will reintroduce park presidents so maybe this makes sense if he's a head of one of the parks

Best news out of this is we can put the always ongoing “Great Adventure isn’t a core park even though it’s receiving the largest investment since Ka” discussion to rest
what about 2006?, that year has not only el toro but tango and a new looney tunes area

That’s what I’m thinking. One thing’s for certain: If he’s out at Six Flags, he’ll have another job in the industry QUICKLY, maybe within the month

Respectfully I think two new coasters (one of which appears to be a giga) and a package of flats is a far greater investment

Well. If we are talking rumors.. Ill say this rumor. Siebert put in his resignation earlier this week. He wants to keep his family in San Antonio and will not be moving to one of the parks on that list. Just rumblings and have not confirmed this.

There are also rumblings of two parks that are being heavily pursued by Herschend, Dorney Park and Fiesta Texas.

Rumors. word of mouth. nothing confirmed.

Kind of wish KD was on that list NGL. Pantherian and Cinnamon Break would mix well together.
With you know....
Also better management

Where was that discussion?

Yeah I can't recall doubting that Great Adventure is currently considered a "core park." I think the quote that I linked makes it clear that "core parks" aren't safe either because their status is subject to reevaluation after a large investment. Great Adventure is getting a large investment. I happen not to like the large investment.

and that's how I became Satan on the Great Adventure board on ParkFans.net

I don't think Six Flags' "brand strength" in NJ is very strong right now, which isn't great paired with the fact that corporate was very clear the parks must respond to investment to not be considered disposable. I don't predict a strong positive response to replacing 10 closed rides with one shuttle coaster personally.

They told shareholders last year that KD was having a good season on the back of Rapterra. This season has looked strong to me so far and I think we should be expecting even more upswing at KD in the wake of SFA's elimination from the market.

As far as I understand, Fiesta and Mexico are both strong performers too. I definitely feel like the lineup of parks not listed is mighty fishy and we maybe should be fielding the possibility that there's an explanation beyond performance for their exclusions...

I hope to god it was his decision to step aside. If he was forced out as part of the layoffs, I think it's time for a revolt. You don't just get rid of one of the best in the industry and get away with it!
They did it with Bridgette and they’ll do it again with Jeffrey. Unfortunately he was probably faced with a “move your whole family away to another park or you’re fired.”

hearing reports Jeffrey seibert was let go from six flags corporation does anybody have any reliable sources cuz that's what we're hearing right now and if that's true I'm pissed I'm upset I'm very deeply troubled and this is I cannot stomach if Jeffrey was fired today please someone respond if you have accurate resources
