News Six Flags America & Hurricane Harbor to Close Following 2025 Season

Employees get to enjoy an employee weekend next weekend to close out the park.
Deserved better. I think if they invested more in the last 10 years they would’ve had a pretty solid park. I’m honestly so upset it’s all over.
Park President just confirmed he is moving to Carowinds as a operations manager. He also confirmed that all full time employees were offered positions at other parks.
Gone too soon. Goodbye, Six Flags America. See you in another life...

Superman is currently evacuating, the line is slowly clearing out. I chose this is my last ride and I’m really regretting it. I guess I should’ve gone to wild ones.
Yup, I was in line for Superman for 2 hours, and somehow happened to be recording when it broke. Waited around for like 20 minutes, people were being evacuated, and it wasn't looking hopeful so we left line, unfortunately. Not the best way to end a parks life, but I guess for six flags america it makes sense.

They had security stopping everyone who was taking signs (and collecting them for themselves, they openly admitted) but there was another section with no security… noticed this awesome sign with Mardi Gras on one side and Firebird on the other. It somehow made its way into my car. Wonder how that could have happened??
For the record there are still people hanging out on main street with no pressure from the park to leave.
The fact that the park kept all the lines open until 6pm tonight really impressed me a lot. The lines for every major attraction I walked past right after 6pm were enormous. The park could have totally closed lines an hour early to prevent some of that, but it's super respectable they didn't.
The final Lost Souls was really enjoyable and the last stunt show was super emotional. Can't believe I shed tears at the fucking SFA stunt show. The jabs they threw at Six Flags corporate were also just... chef's kiss.
I got on all the rides I really wanted to today and closed out the night aboard the very last cycle of Pirate's Flight. Shout-out to @zachclarke for the "I sorta want to have my final ride be something really stupid" idea—I totally lifted it from him and it was a 10/10 experience. Just a random, silly, historic ride that almost certainly has no chance of being relocated—this absurd flat where the little ship-themed ride vehicles just plop themselves down on the ground each cycle. Excellent way to close things out.

The above is the kind of stuff that will keep what was a park that wasn’t appreciated enough in the memories of those who did appreciate it.
I've never been to SFA, after reading this thread, it sounds like I should plan a trip!
