Fellow users of these forums! For far too long, the staff of this site has been oppressing the wishes of our user base. They do not listen to our request, our demands, our basic needs for coverage of chlorine saturated water parks.

Is a user not entitled to the content of a local water park that most of the users don't even visit? "No", says the admins, "It already has it's own sub-forum." "No", says the moderators, "It's not popular enough." "No", says Zachary, "I can't get a ride there." We should reject those answers. We should choose something different, something impossible. We should choose WCUSAFans! Viva la Revilution!

Would be okay with WCFans, WCUFans doesn't ring right since you either pronounce it "Water Country" or "Water Country U.S.A." As said before WCusaFans is too much of a mouthful to say, and since it's the only place in the country with the initials WC it won't be stepping on another park's toes.

EDIT: Another note for WCUFans, it sounds more like some University's off-shoot fan forum for Football.

I think the main point is that we have BGTFans, which is nowhere near our parks of interest, yet poor nearby Water Country is all alone, shivering under the umbrella of a ParkFan subcategory. And hey! If WCUSA gets its own argument about getting its own thread, where is WWFans (Water Works Fans, that is)...dumpy in-park waterparks need love, too! IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!!

To answer CK's poll:
1. Oh, I go there, believe me. My only other waterpark option is Water Works, so when I want to get wet, Water Country is fun and relaxing. Expect a story as to why in a whole new thread coming soon (keeping you in suspense...).
2. Personally, I don't see a need for a waterpark fansite, but it's fun to battle the admins about it ;) . But still, it's basically just the name of the sub-category that it's in. How come BGT can do it, but WCUSA does not? Do you guys discriminate against waterparks or something, they can't get their own title for their sub-category? In fact, Water Works doesn't have its own thread or category or even sub-category at all, but I doubt anybody on planet Earth cares about that....

You know, right now I'm wondering if I should have brought WCUSAFans (as a little joke in the first place... ;)

If someone wants to start documenting, reporting on, providing photo updates for, and generally just managing a WCUSA fansite, by all means, come forward. A writer is always the most important prerequisite for new coverage. If there's someone who cares about putting hours of work into covering a water park maybe 12 people legitimately care about, let me know. :p

This.

I think what WCUSA has right now is fine. Since I started doing my thing here, like documenting eateries, menus & whatnot, I have started doing it there too. Truth be told, I don't think there is really enough content to discuss on the scale of a BGW Fans site.

Is there any way we could "filter out" forums for certain parks that we have no interest in? As of right now, I don't think that's completely necessary. However, once these forums expand more to other parks then I think it would be a welcome change. I would just want this so that I could keep up with the latest news on the parks that I care about. That way, I wouldn't have to search through the parks I'm not interested in.

That's in the works.

As Gavin said, this is a problem we are very aware of and, to be honest, it's actually one of our number one priorities right now. We consider it basically an essential function prior to looking to future expansion and would prefer having it done prior to launching what we're working on now.

It has been done! We've officially passed 60,000 posts! For anyone who's wondering, David made the 60,000th post here.

Now, though many of you have already sorta discovered it, the launch of our third park-specific fansite, BGTFans, is quickly approaching. As we've always said, a writer is the essential piece we need when considering a new addition to the network and, fortunately, we now have one- someone I'm thoroughly looking forward to working with and someone who is, in all honestly, vastly overqualified for the position. Anyway, more on BGTFans very soon. Needless to say, we're all extremely excited about the project and the prospect of bringing detailed, up to date, coverage to another park without a true fansite of its own.

Lastly, as alluded to in the post above, we got in contact with the developer of the unread posts plugin and offered him some compensation for his time if he'd be able to implement the unread posts view on a per-forum basis. This morning, we got a reply and, according to the developer, if everything goes as planned, he thinks he can have the feature we need added within the week.

Someone should probably be doing them, but all three of us are super busy basically constantly and, seeing that very few people read them anyway, financial statements have taken a backseat. We should be doing them though.
