Is this formatting supposed to be something else now?

I thought yesterday it was said it is old, and a new format was released but I don't see any difference.

If you're not noticing much of a difference, we did our jobs well. There are actually a lot of minor improvements, but hopefully nothing too invasive.

Sidenote: @Gavin fixed an issue with the unread posts counter last night. It should behave like it did a few days ago.

One difference with the new theme pushed a few days ago is the disappearance of the Mark all as read button for mobile at the top of the What's New list. Is there any way to get that back?

There’s actually a lot that has changed that I need to go over when I get a chance. With that being said, due to me moving, the official address for ParkFans Network has changed.

For items sent by USPS, it is now:

ParkFans
PO Box 2532
Merrifield, VA 22116

For items sent by Courier (FedEx, UPS, etc), it is now:

ParkFans
8409 Lee Hwy
Box 2532
Merrifield, VA 22116

This was never reported by anyone, but I just stumbled upon (and fixed) a pretty major bug with prefixes completely vanishing for anyone with the DarkFans theme selected. Sorry DarkFans folks!

Related: Some nodes are being moved around to make the forum structure slightly less intimidating.

The biggest change is that FEC nodes (namely Funland of Fredericksburg and GoKarts Plus) are not located inside their closest officially covered park's Local Area Attractions board. If you've previously accessed these nodes via the link node that previously existed in these same locations, nothing will really change. If you accessed them through the Other Parks board, that path no longer exists.

Another notable alteration is that Water Country USA is losing its bevy of subnodes. It will utilize the same flat prefix-based system that nearly all other non-officially-covered parks already do.

Numerous upgrades today, but here are a few noteworthy ones:

First off, at long last, node grids have returned to subforum and sub-category pages. In other words, in sections of the forum like the Cedar Fair node, subforums are now displayed in a grid similar to what is found on the forum index page. This is only applicable to desktop and some tablet users at the moment, but more improvements will be coming soon.

Secondly, over the last few days a lot more reorganization has been happening in the Other Parks area with plenty more to come. The goal of this is to consolidate duplicative categories and make navigating through the structure less tedious.

Thirdly, a new search node has been added to the Industry section which aims to consolidate all new attractions slated for a particular year in one place. A link to this new feature is included below:

If you find that new consolidated project listing useful, please let us know. We probably plan to make a second for Project 2022 attractions as well and roll them over at the start of each year so we always have [Class of Current Year] and [Class of Next Year] sections. That said, it's not something we want to expend too much time on if it's not something people expect to find a use for.

As always, if you see any issues (anything from formatting to spelling to functionality) let us know!

Few minor updates:
  1. Where thread prefixes do and don't appear has been tweaked again. Should improve some formatting in smaller-viewport thread listings.
  2. Sub-node grid views have been fixed on the DarkFans theme—no more dark text on a dark background. Sorry about that.
  3. The homepage sidebar now has special sections to highlight online donors and panel members. Iconography has also been tweaked.

Has this new forehead been here for long? "New & Rumored Attractions" I am just noticing it and now that I have it is a massive eyesore that I wish to hide.

I don't remember consenting to be your guinea pig.

That being said, I approve.

Couldn't think of anywhere else to ask, but considering donations; is there an option to donate at the silver tier in one lump sum, rather than the monthly billing?

Minor visual improvements have been applied to both node and thread pages, but the biggest change I just pushed was to deal with page headers. Both the floating main navigation header and the sticky page title headers will now switch to fixed positions more liberally. This should make reading and posting on the site in situations where viewport height is scarce far easier.
