Even if there could be a limited, short-term improvement to, say, operations and dining, long-term, it would likely be a disaster. Hopefully the SIX/FUN merger has demonstrated the horrors of consolidation in this industry for consumers (and, amusingly, Wall St. apparently).
Yeah and imagine if Scott Ross still held a controlling intrest in the combined company.

I mean it says thrills. It cant mean anything else other than something to do with a ride or so
I don't know...usually this time of the year that would scream Haunt related to me. Like another big announcement of an IP House going to several different properties. Have a strong feeling that's what it is.
Please don't speak such things lest you will them into being. 😆
I mean...the present CEO did come from SeaWorld and he was viewed very favorably while there. He could've made some calls. (I kid by the way about this being the announcement...don't be mad at me 🤣)

No this is wait to late in the season to be Haint related. Those announcements were made weeks ago when Haunt passes went on sale.

Now I don't really think this is what it is but I will throw this out there as a possibility since I don't have any idea. Six Flags does SBNO coaster that was highly beloved that if it were to reopen would once again be the oldest operating coaster in North America and one of the 10 oldest in the world. So crazy idea Wild One relocation.

Just like announcing a new rollercoaster well after season pass sales start? It could still be Haunt related. Not saying it is (but my gut is telling me it may be), but this still seems like a chainwide announcement and not just one park.

I'm all for the Wild One relocation though. Or announcing multiple rides for multiple parks, that would fit in with this.

Absolutly 0 chance that old ass wooden coaster is being moved. I mentually can't imagine the work and stuff it would take to do all that only for most the GP at wherever it goes not even liking it since it's still a old wooden coaster. It might ride decent but in the end it is what it is. It will have 0 draw factor and having people lining up and boosting any park lineup. Sorry not sorry 🤷‍♂️ if that gets relocated ill go throw 1k on red the second it happens

Could the chain be raising their capital budget for 2028-2029, and commiting to new, high tech Thrills for every park over 2+ years? If you combine that with an Arie Force One announcement as a stimuli for season passes, that might generate some excitement.

Just spit balling at this point lol.

I'm imagining it'll be like the announcement in 2024 that said they were investing $1 billion over the next two years: https://investors.sixflags.com/news...ears-to-Enhance-Guest-Experience/default.aspx

Of course everything except Tormenta and the family boomerang is now opening in 2027 LOL.

I could see them giving the high level details of the future additions. The Chinese Intamin coasters, AF1, and Switchback could also be included in this.

Yes, this is what I'm thinking.

This would also explain the one week SFMM delay, as it's been apparent for awhile that they wanted the thrill glider to be a grand finale of their 2027 announcements.

I wonder then if whatever they're announcing is a recent development of some sort.

I feel like after what happened with the originally "planned" 2026 additions not happening in 2026, I think announcing 2028 capex even earlier would be a huge risk. I feel like them not being able to deliver in 2026 what was originally promised is what led to Zimmerman's departure.

Its definitely a risk in a year of a merger. What was he thinking with that...

In all fairness if this is relocation on Arieforce, Switchback or the China rides it should be significantly less risky as they rides that have already been manufactured and simply have to be taken and rebuilt at their new park. While not a small fete it certainly eliminates a lot of major hurdles.

The more I think about it, the more I think this is it.

If correct, boy there will be some lucky parks out there!

Can someone fill me in on what the "china ride" is?

There's a batch of four Intamins for sale from a project in China that switched gears - a multi-launch, a spinner, a surf rider, and a tilting drop tower. All in, they were said to be less than $15M USD for all four. Here's a link to their dedicated thread - Industry News & Rumors - Hi-Space (Nickelodeon Universe China) Intamin Rides for Sale

If Six Poles were to purchase these rides... what should go where?

Multi-launch to Kings Island, spinning coaster to Carowinds, and the drop tower to Great Adventure. Surf Rider can go wherever.
