I agree with both of you, but I think the public has a limit for how much it cares for most causes too. At a certain point most people get selfish and would rather enjoy something than "do what's right". Peta would probably have people get rid of their pets even.

Want to know exactly what this announcement really means to the groups protesting and attempting to damage SEAS. CNN and the film makers today have announced they will re-air the documentary yet again tomorrow night on CNN.

As stated before nothing really changes with these people.

And yet they don't actually HELP animals in the wild. Why don't they focus on helping species survive instead.

In my opinion, after watching them operate for years, they are interested in pursuing power, not protecting animals.

I recall a time they tried to prevent a group of people from rescuing a beached animal (whale?) so it could die as a "martyr."

Also consider what they did to the Virginia Aquarium. PETA prevented a massive dolphin habitat from being built that would have been dedicated to rescue and medical research to protect the species. It was also intended to improve the seal habitat.

Sadly the seals are often lost in the details of this terrible event in VA Beach history. If you have ever been to the VA Aquarium (VMSM), you have no doubt seen the harbor seals in their outdoor habitat. While state of the art at the time of construction it is now considered small. At the time of the planned building of the new aquarium it was hoped that the Seals would be able to move over to the larger habitat. None of this of course happened and while the Seals are happy and healthy, they could have been better off.

Finally there was to be some interesting research done regard the interactions between the bottle nose dolphins and other marine mammals.

Many years ago a local radio station would hold a charity fishing tournament in the Elizabeth River in front of PETA national offices in Norfolk. I remember the hosts would talk about them coming out and raising you know what about them doing so and throwing things at them.

Also IIRC PETA was also charged in NC for illegally dumping animal bodies out in Manteo and down that area.

Peta is only a small par of the problem as most people do see them as extreme. The bigger problem is groups like the Humane Society of the United States people think they and similar groups are mainstream but in reality they are just as radical as Peta. Many people see the Humane society's name attached to this stuff and assume that there is legitimacy to the claims.

Do you think PETA has by now has become aware of the fact that we are essentially curb stomping them and their supposed reputation.

I'm pretty sure PETA has been insulted way worse, they know that insults are only a fraction of this mind battle. They've already played their "emotion cards" and got into people's minds by causing protests, pressuring SW to cave in, and now the only thing they have left to do is put SW and other organizations in checkmate by forcing them to release their animals.

PETA is no stranger to this game, and SW won't be the last to face criticism. It's up to sensible supporters who can see through the emotional card tricks and find a way to put an end to this. I do not know what can touch the hearts of some of these crazy people, but it starts by removing the false veil of "everything I see on the Internet is 100% correct".

It took me sometime but I think this article is well worth a read in light of Sea world's decision on the Orcas http://www.bedlamfarm.com/2015/03/06/carriage-horses-and-elephants-pyrrhic-victories-weep-for-the-animals/

One Thing that I wonder about is how having no job and mental stimulation is going to effect them.
