Saw this video of a lantern triggered thing with the old Nighthawk station pretty dam neat.

My biggest take away tonight was how bad the wait was for Paranormal. We waited an hour and half in the rain for Paranormal tonight. The line wasn't even that long, It just crawls due to the preshow and the fact that they let the entire express lane in before they let a group or two of us non express every 5 mins. Im fine being wet and waiting in line as long as it moves. No reason a 150 person line takes 90 mins to go through however.

Other Thoughts
The Jason maze was well put together and makes me excited to see how Diablo looks at KD.

Loved Wake the Dead. Can't wait see it again at KD with a different cast and a different ending.

I hope KD uses wrist bands and not the god awful QR Codes I had to use tonight. You have to buy the haunt pass online which forces a Processing Fee to be added to it. The QR Code in your app actually don't do anything. They will turn you away if that is all you have. You will get an email with a link to a website that will give you a new QR code for each house. This website will also constantly log you out every 30 mins or so. Lastly after you go through the house you have a small cooldown before you can scan again. (see below). This system was causing issues all night. Lines would stop moving as the worker scanning QR codes would have to explain the Scarowinds QR in the Six Flags app does absolutely nothing and you need to check for the email to sign into the website for QR codes. Also there was a couple issues with trying to get them scanned in the pouring rain.

THe preshows need to go. That was my main gripe my 1st visit last year. Just let us in the maze. The lines feel like they barely move because of the dumb ass pre shows

Preshows can be fine, but they need a b-mode they can switch to for when lines extend more than 10 or 15 minutes.

It's also not just the preshows. At least when I visited last year, house operations in general made absolutely zero sense. There were times they would send a group and then literally wait for that same group to all exit the house before sending another... TO THE PRESHOW. It was incomprehensibly stupid. And yes, also observed the horrible (or complete lack of) express vs standby ratio-ing. Operationally, SCarowinds was just as inexplicably bad as my experiences at Hersheypark's DarkNights have been—I was just lucky and hit SCarowinds on an empty night. If there had been any crowds, I would have hated the event.

That is exactly what I experienced with the Jason house. A group would go in then right before or as the group comes out, they would send the next group in. It felt like we were standing in the same spot for 10 minutes at times, and it's not like they were sending in small groups either. It did seem to speed up as we got closer to the house.

Unfortunately, I have a feeling KD will also be doing QR codes for houses as well from what I've been hearing. Especially it's the only other park on the CF side using it. Both parks already do the QR for Fast Lane, which I abhor deeply. I'd love to be wrong, though.
