I don't know if this is news for the Californians or not, but, per permits, Riptide Rescue is slated to be relocated soon. Don't know where its new home will be, but it is getting a new ride foundation, new operator and control booths, new utilities, and some sort of new retaining wall as well.

Anyone know more?

It’s getting moved to the tidal twister spot, I think

Having taken a look at it, all I can think is: “It’s a baby troika!”

Was just about to post all of this information in a different thread lol. Yeah my guess would be Riptide Rescue gets moved to either the old Tidal Twister spot or the empty plaza between Rescue Jr and the arcade.
5,842 sqft sounds a bit small for a restaurant, doesn't it? With the 30' height limit I doubt it would be two stories either. I would love to have a sit-down restaurant overlooking the bay, but "Bayside Market" suggests it'll be another quick service or maybe just a grab-and-go location, which seems like an unnecessary investment. Unless... this is just the first stage in a bigger plan that would move other things around, close existing restaurants, and/or eventually create space for some new attraction.

I was looking and it is almost the same size as the indoor part of calypso bay smokehouse

I heard from an employee who works on Riptide that they are planning to move it to an empty courtyard across from Electric Eel, not the tidal Twister plot

I've also seen people mention this, and it makes sense. That spot is such an awkward, empty space that isn't being used for anything these days. It'll fit perfectly with the Rescue Jr. theme, assuming it doesn't get a retheme to match Ocean Explorer.

Don’t know if it’s related to this project or just a refurbishment but construction walls went up around the ride
I haven't seen this ride actually operating in months, so I guess it's possible they're just performing some sort of repairs? Unless they're finally getting around to moving this and building a new restaurant in its place. You'd think they would've taken the opportunity to do that while they were renovating the shark encounter though.
