Here's something a bit different; over the winter I designed and 3D printed the audio control panel currently in use at Tumbili.

The outside geometry is based on the sloped cover consolet enclosures offered by Hoffman, but with various changes to ensure printability and rigidity. There admittedly aren't many benefits to 3D printing a controls enclosure so similar an existing product, but it was done as a proof of concept to see if it'd be a viable option in cases where an enclosure with unique geometry would be useful.

The Tumbili and Kings Dominion logos were custom designed, as well as the nod to Crypt on the side. 🙂

I have lots more photos of the design and build process here.

That's so awesome! How'd you manage getting that job?!

Thanks. I worked part time for technical services at the park last year; I had the idea and I'm grateful my department decided to humor me, even though it was outside the scope of my role. I did the design, solid modeling, 3D printing, and they wired it and installed it at the ride. Probably well over 150 hours between modeling and print setup, so it's not exactly the most practical solution, but it was a fun project and I'm glad it's at home at the ride.

That's so cool! Looks really good!

Can anyone say what this panel goes to?
A Mechanical Screener duh... lol jk...
This is a basic motor starter with lights for feedback to know if it's running forward, backwards, or faults. I don't know anything about the dam, but it looks like there is a mechanical rake that spins to keep things from getting lodged somewhere, presumably the spillway/drain. The Hand-Off-Auto (HOA) switch allows the user to manually (hand) control the rake, or let an external controller or timer control the starter automatically. Those pushbuttons to the right of the panel most likely allow the operator to control the rake further.

I was just being funny, but since this is the closest thread I could find for control panels I stuck it here - it's for the first round of screening on an intake for a water treatment plant that I recently toured.

The second picture is the finished water room before it's pumped to the distribution for consumption in the given locality.

Ngl that second picture looks like it could be the storage area for a log flume-

Interesting - I know Le Scoot's reservoir is directly below the station/run-out; I think Shenandoah Lumber Co is basically in the same location just not perched 10' - 30' above it...
