Really random, but would it ever be possible for R75 to go backward on one side again? It would have been cool for the 50TH anniversary but I’m not sure how easy it’d be to pull off. Honestly I’d love to try doing it backwards but I’m not sure if they’d ever do it again.

Probably not, since the issue was the insurance company requiring the ride to go by manufacturer specs, which doesn't include backwards train operations.

Now if KD/SF wanted to pay for the engineering required to satisfy their insurer, then maybe it could come back. But my guess is that'd be too high of an R&D expense for them to justify spending it.

It's also a little harder now that the ride no longer uses skid brakes. They would need to remount the brake fins and properly calibrate their location in relation to the calipers on the tracks. Like yeah, that's not that difficult, but it's decidedly more work than just lifting the train off the track and turning it around.

But yes, the real reason is insurance.
