So, a handful of survey markers and stakes went up this week on and around the Time Warp site. Something is coming, don't know when.

As someone who doesn't usually speculate, I still have thoughts;
  • This will more likely than not be a new attraction rather than food, as the restaurant a stone's throw away just went through a massive overhaul and other concessions in the area are seeing similar rehabs.
  • This will certainly tie into Grande World Expo thematically. The area has very quietly existed since 1981, more for vibes really, but has only now seen its first properly themed in-universe attraction with DareDeviler. CW did a lot with that and they will do more here.
  • Redevelopment of the Time Warp site may actually be a separate event from redeveloping Kingswood Amphitheatre. Time Warp's site isn't huge, but combining it with the massive Kingswood site would make for an enormous space. Kingswood however would be a big deal to demolish and I don't think they're ready to take that step yet. So this new development will be mostly limited to the immediate area around Time Warp.
Now if the third point above is true then that will rule out most major coasters as well as a Rip Roarin' Falls sized log flume, both of which everyone up here is convinced we will get. Sorry guys, no RMC ground-up hyper for us. What we can hope for is something intermediate.

You could put flat rides here, Time Warp did technically replace two of them after the 2003 season. It's an inevitability that given CW's close personal ties with the manufacturer we get an ART Engineering Wild Swing at some point, perhaps even the XL model. We will buy this flat ride, just a matter of where and when. A NebulaZ would work out fine, too, but I'm not huge on the idea. CW's famous thrill ride collection doesn't need to be expanded at all as much as most of it should either run better cycles or be replaced by better attractions. Two candidates however that immediately come to mind are a Screaming Swing and Zamperla Air Race, but one is too loud to be on the park's perimeter and as for the other DareDeviler is already very aviation themed. A HUSS Break Dance 5 is another dark horse suggestion of mine. Flats could very well open in 2027 if so.

The best case scenario is still roller coaster. 2028 at the latest would put us three years out on AlpenFury and CW isn't going to so quickly convince Six Flags to give them another ludicrously expensive coaster, so I would temper the scale and say family thrill. Something to perfectly bridge the area's lineup between an SLC, Carousel, Wave Swinger, and nearby Action Zone machines.

To prove a point to my friends, I sketched out how a simple two-train, 4-car Mack family spinning coaster would fit into Time Warp's site. My rulebook was basically using average dimensions (turn radius, blocks) from existing coasters, reusing existing infrastructure (station and maintenance access), and staying mostly where survey markers have been sighted (took a liberty with an area adjacent to DareDeviler's queue). I have no idea what this layout would look like if modeled out in 3D, irl it'd probably be designed differently, and again this is only a proof of concept of what CW can put into the area;

I'm sure there's a solid chance I'll see the logic of whatever they actually do build, coaster or not. Here's to hopefully not being disappointed by whatever comes.

I think this will be a new flat ride in 2027. Something to complement Daredeviler and draw people to that area. I'm going to go with your prediction of the XL Wild Swing and maybe a smaller flat right next to it.

I won't hope for a new coaster so soon, but when it does happen, I seriously hope we get a decent scale family/family-thrill coaster. Something with a fraction of the visuals of a werewolf gorge type experience would do WONDERS here.

But that art engineering swing thing looks pretty cool (and screamin' swings are my favourite flats) so I'd be pleased to see that.

anyone know the status on the kingswood area? Last I saw it from the parking lot the tents were all shredded up.
