It needed to close for HHN anyway. I think it’s more likely a budget decision than a new attraction being fast tracked. It never made sense for it to reopen after HHN to only close two or three months later. It feels like with the closure of Supercharged 6 months ahead of schedule, they may be positioning it's replacement to be Project 2028, given no other projects at the resort appear to be on track for 2028 at this second...
If they do this right, this could be an amazing rideView attachment 44262
Something's going on here, I can feel it. And you know what they say- If you feel it, chase it!
not gonna lie, that would make the most sense (maybe it be a spiritual successor to the old jaws ride)Possible replacement would be a Jaws acttraction. They have been hinting this with Temporary Jaws experiences in the area and have been busy with a new patent boat ride patent and a Jaws 1975 Trademark. An indoor darkride like Pirates of the Caribean themed to Jaws 1975.
How would this work? The building is large but not large enough to really mimmic the old Jaws ride, or any kind of "open water" feeling?Possible replacement would be a Jaws acttraction. I mean, "build an indoor sea" is the unlikely part here. As opposed to keeping the experience mostly the same but with a new coat of paint, new props, and ride media, etc.The ride would simulate sailing out to sea at night so the ride building would not have to be large or even use large screens to simulate a distant ocean while using mechanical effects closer to the boat. The park would tear out the buses and build a indoor sea which the boats sail on.
missed opportunity of not replacing Shrek 4d with this one (and putting villain con in the old nickelodeon studio building) since not only it makes sense for the front entrance but they can convert the Betty boop shop into the ride entrance while converting hello kitty store into the ride exit gift shopIf they did a BTTF theme, they could "go" anywhere (including different time periods but also do attractions references, like a Great-Movie-Ride-lite), and include a Jaws reference since it's in the films.
Disaster had a small queue that was completely destroyed by Supercharged. Beetlejuice was a tiny theater and I have a hard time seeing them build one there again - at least while Animal Actors is closing and Fear Factor Live's theater is empty most of the year.back on supercharged replacement, since the building did take up two attractions, I can see the queue line be converted to a theater while the ride building and the old disaster queue line and exit be reused for a new dark ride
I feel like they could easily do this. They’ve been rolling out more and more “nostalgic” Universal merch and experiences over the years, and I think they’ve seen that there is still a lot of demand for their early attractions.I've seen this thrown around a lot and it makes me think that San Fran may become a "nostalgia" land.
