But are there some valid points? Their last new coaster was almost 10 years ago disregarding Gold Rusher. Their anniversary is coming up and the go kart land could make sense?

The only valid point is the "Park Promade" teaser in the Goldrusher retheme, and was already paid in which the buyout is what basically motivated for SF to initiate it plus SFOG's 60th coming up soon The only sign that it's likely delayed in secret is because there is no active work in sight in the Go Karts area and is already way ahead in development, while adding into the fact that SFOG is a "core" park and one of the 10 SF named in their portfolio. I don't expect a new B&M added to any other park legacy SF or CF by 2030 as SFOG would already have "closed out" with B&M in the meantime, much like the them having "closed out" SF working with RMC with Twisted Cyclone.
I personally would love to see a launch of some variety. A vekoma family or a vekoma like abyssus. I think any park in the US can get a vekoma family and its a great move.
I'd actually prefer a Vekoma Firestorm model as none have been built in the US and unique enough from the Ghostrider model in some surverys that were put out last fall
I don't think SFOG is in a spot for a significant 2027 addition.
- They're currently spending $300M+ on buying out the park, more than other CAPEX across the chain combined.
- Park attendance is not up there right now.
- Georgia Goldrusher was very expensive hardware and is still being sorted out.
- Park just went through a huge refresh and is in decent shape with no extremely sore spots.
You kind of do have a point, 2028 seems more logic now compared to next year. Especially the fact that next year is the park's 60th, so I would most likely expect an announcement date for 2027 given that there would be more opportunities and freedom when SFOG becomes fully owned by then for more frequent Capex that can be made, and not have to worry about the restrictions in play by the limited partnership in terms of budgeting.
2028 seems like a no-brainer. SFOG's sister park will also be in an off-year for capex.
Excited for the future of SFOG once it's fully in the hands of SFEC. That park has so much untapped potential - it having lower attendance indicates that investment is needed to meet the market.
Spoke of this in another thread, but a giga dive would be perfect to pull in people from across the Atlanta metro. Would be funny to have a giga dive at both of the original Six Flags.

I loved how the updated area around Georgia Goldrusher looked when I visited last month. Would love to see this ride concept be put in around that area to continue the theme and add a much needed family attraction to the park!
Is that the Thunder River plot with Acrophobia in the background? It would not surprise me if they just showed a rendering of what they're getting, considering they did that exact thing with Carowinds' flume.

I'd actually prefer something like Werewolf Gorge as the park could benefit a family thrill launch in the lineup. Though I could see the focus on Dahlonega's replacement come after their Go Karts project as that's the main focus for now
I actually started making a concept for this on PlanCo using Dahlonega’s plot. Terrain was too difficult to decipher for me to continue on the project but it could absolutely fit.
That being said if the budget is there for the dueling woodies and they make an actual mountain I can’t imagine a much better fit for a park like SFOG that’s always leaned more towards theming (as far as legacy six flags goes)

It’s honestly shocking how bad the park is (in terms of coasters) for guests 42 inches and under. They have a choice of Joker or Mindbender, and lots of kids that height would probably be too scared to go upside down on Mindbender. I was shocked to find out a lot of the Arrow mine trains have 48 inch height requirements (Same as Iron Gwazi lmao)

They have a team maintaining Monster Mansion, and they seem to be doing an outstanding job at it. Giving them a brand new attraction to put love into would be AMAZING.
