I agree......I had heard that Great Adventure had plans before Phantom Spire of a 350 foot giga coaster at the front of the park. Additionally, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Great Adventure had also planned a 400 foot full circuit coaster next to Medusa where the old theater is. I forgot where I heard this but definitely would have been interesting. Regardless, I think project purple is a beautiful coaster with the color and that insane upside down launch! I hope the park has that zep powder on hand at the station for housekeeping duties lol
I think you heard two versions of the same plan. The cancelled plan was for a Nitro-style giga along the lake over by the log flume/arena area. It was a giga but wasn't going to get close to being a strata. Not sure how close it really got to realization. This was all pre-merger under the former leadership in the late 2010s.

Y'know, you're allowed to have more than one personality trait.

I can tell u that I have never been accused of a lack of personality outside of whatever this attempt is. The scope of the northdetective project just doesn't extend very far

It's fun that we keep prejustifying unmade claims under the assumption they'll be necessary to aggrandize an underwhelming product. Again I understand sometimes I like to poke fun at the stupidity I anticipate, just seems odd to explain why a misleading record claim (with no agreed-upon technical definition from any veritable authority, afaik) is "technically accurate"
I was justifying my own speculation after your double-quoting me appeared to suggest a contradiction in my posts.

I’m begging you, please touch some grass.

For 1 who despises this coasters existence so much, you sure are in here alo't talking about it

mhm. so u can either characterize it as senseless fanboy noise that nobody cares about or a backfiring attempt at negative publicity. can't be both

I only very vaguely skimmed old forums and had great adventure enthusiast family members at the time.

I recall pre-Jersey Devil Coaster hearing of a Giga by the lake that might have gotten a Jersey Devil theme.

No clue how true that was though.

It was some dude on the old GAdvOnline/History forums I’m pretty sure. Claimed that there were plans of an i305 style giga for 2013 that was never approved due to funding reasons, and was what caused Fitzgerald to pivot to Zumanjaro.

Do I believe any of that? Not at all, but it’s interesting to think about

Lmao. I always know when we’re in a content drought on project purple with the thread fills with people disagreeing with @northdetective

I get it, not everyone agrees with him but Honestly he’s been very consistent throughout this thread. And personally I think his differing opinion and perspective is healthy for fluid dialogue. We’re all here to discuss this project. Good bad ugly great doesn’t matter. I’m here for every opinion and invite even the less enthusiastic side.

This place is great

Nothing new with Project Purple
More progress on the Shoreline Pier, all rides are now at least partially vertical.
New lampposts have been added, looks really nice
Supports for string lights and shade structures being put in
Lots of landscaping being put in looks great
Some electrical buildings are being constructed

Man, I like Colin, but he's getting a little clickbait-y and rushing videos out for content's sake lately. There's no new construction with Project Purple, so no "MAJOR" "UPDATES!" as his post! title! states! But there are definitely major updates about it. It just doesn't sound like he's seen Fred's interview from earlier this week who had a ton of updates or talked to Ryan lately who was offering updates, since he said here there'd be progress on PP soon "if I had to guess." Great to see the day-to-day progress on Shoreline Pier. He doesn't seem to know they confirmed a Memorial Day Weekend opening, either.

Everyone makes mistakes. It's easy to criticize content when we're not the ones bending your lives around shooting and producing it.

Coliwood is very welcome here and I'd hope that no one would jump down his throat for some small mistakes if he did show up here. The two big local creators—Coliwood and ElToroRyan—have both been doing excellent work if you ask me.

Colin is literally like, 20 years old too. He’s a college student and still busts his ass to create this content and keep people in the know, and has for a while at this point. I’m really glad for both him and Ryan that they get their flowers, in a way, and have unique opportunities to create content being invited to exclusive opportunities by the park. I’ve met him a few times and he’s super kind and has a great head on his shoulders. To rip him or Ryan seems really silly to me.

Colin has done wonders for someone like me who would be keeping up in person at a similar rate if I hadn’t moved 700+ miles away from the park. Thorough with his updates, good energy, and all around seems like a pretty great dude. I can forgive a somewhat misleading video title here and there, especially when there’s far worse out there.

Colin is the reason I started going back full time to Great Adventure.

I had only bought a pass in 2024 because of a trip to Great Escape and because I was going to purchase an anniversary brick memorial for my mom, who had been a Jackson local when they built the park.

Colin's content is what convinced me to keep going as I've seen all of the work that's been put into the park on the very slow upward trajectory since 2024.

I appreciate all of the little updates.
