Anyone got any Chicagoland recs? I miss my gas station foods (said the week he got food poisoning from McD’s Nuggets).
Wawa hot food is so bad, it's like they're allergic to any kind of spices. The sweets and coffee on the other hand.....
We should get some tomorrow. Can we please get a photo update of the roller coaster we're all supposed to be talking about? Asking for a friend.
I'll prolly be there and will share if there's anything new.Can we please get a photo update of the roller coaster we're all supposed to be talking about? Asking for a friend.
They trademarked "Phantom Spire." If others, the records aren't public.Should we speculate on the name? My guess is Leviathan. I know Canada's Wonderland has a Leviathan but that's a whole different country.
I've kept my expectations in check so I've been content so far, all things considered. Only disappointment was coming in under 400.' I've just accepted it's a different amusement world now and I can't expect Nitro-style Gigas or Ka scale behemoth's anytime soon. Too expensive for anyone to go in on with material prices, the general economy, and state of the parks what they've been for several years now. Maybe the whole market changes for the better in the 2030s and parks can take on major non-gimmick coasters again.Anyone keep going through the cycle of Phantom Spire of liking it one day and hating it the next?
I just realized on brainfarting on forgetting to put in the name of the ride.I've kept my expectations in check so I've been content so far, all things considered. Interesting stuff from last night talking to some ride personnel: they're as ready for the announcement as we are. They know what's coming, they know we (public) pretty much know (they said so), and they just want to be able to talk openly about it. Several also said they want to see a traditional Giga added on one of the several large plots of land now available, including the arena area or lakefront. One also said it was Zumanjaro that caused most of Ka's problems and forced the end. Pointed out they couldn't run two trains once it was added. Also that every time Ka rolled back, it basically ruined the wheels because in later years they started using cheaper wheels that burned up a lot quicker, so the annual budget for wheels went way up and forced a lot of downtime to swap out. Sounds like Pantherian.
Feels like we’re getting kinda close to a full reveal then?I've kept my expectations in check so I've been content so far, all things considered. Only disappointment was coming in under 400.' I'm thinking it's complicated. Can only feature one PR message/campaign at a time, ideally. You don't want to compete with your own advertising with multiple emphases at the same time. So, Sept is reserved for Fright Fest promotion in Oct. I think May/June may be, probably focused on Shoreline Pier's opening since it seems Memorial Day-ish (late May-early June) looks doable for it to be ready. So, that leaves a July/August PR period open for the "Project Purple" reveal, I think. Ryan lately hinted at a summer reveal, though early this year he suggested the spring. I think he was broadly honest mid-winter when he basically said the Shoreline Pier project came together late and shook up their schedule for PP and the PR attached to it. Focus shifted, it seemed, to the Pier. So my guess is it dominates the spring to early summer, then PP gets the spotlight. But I'm just recklessly speculating here.Feels like we’re getting kinda close to a full reveal then?
I wonder when the tower will be completed. It will be strange to have this ride finished and its presence seen everywhere with no announcement. They are already building suspense and gaining the benefits from PR with construction ongoing. But the tower is the big draw to this ride and they may want to wait to reveal it to public and keep for the big announcement and rendering.I'm thinking it's complicated. But I think more will see/hear the PR and PP receive maximum attention mid-season than now when the park is only open on weekends. The 250th festivities take up early July. My guess is early August is the roll-out for the new coaster.
