We now have a rare opportunity to cross reference, since the ACE Newsletter went out this week regarding a bunch of future projects from Mack Rides. Couldn't think of another thread to put this in.

To quote from the newsletter, with new/key info in bold;

There exists three interpretations;
  • This is SFGADV's Project and it got postponed by another year (incredibly unlikely)
  • SFGADV's 2027 Project is not what we think it is (someone else has ordered an Xtreme Spinner).
  • The 2028 listing is either a miscommunication or a red herring and this is referring to SFGADV's 2027 Project.
The Plopsa Germany spinner was settled on 2028 awhile ago because both partners are busy with and have prioritized other projects. My opinion is that the third option is most likely true, but it'd be an incredible twist if this somehow WAS NOT it (and we can manifest KI Xtreme Spinner rumors). We do have the added assurance though that the next Xtreme Spinner project is American.
Good news ladies and gents, Amusement Today has reported the following from Mack on Page 73;

Two Extreme Spinning Coasters are on tap, one in the U.S. for 2027 and Plopsaland Deutschland in 2028.

Third option is probably correct. So basically SFGADV 2027 is exactly what we all knew it was anyways. No more surprises :)

I really hope they don't try to push for it to open "early." SFGAdv needs a grand reintroduction and a much-hyped, long-awaited, flagship coaster and area overhaul will go a long way if they pull out all the stops for its marketing and opening. Pulling the trigger with a few weeks notice in July or August would be massively shorting this ride. I'd see it as a sign of desperation, not a sound, long-term, forward-looking strategy.

Granted, if they go vertical over Summer 2026 that's something to build hype for 2027. There is an optimism that comes with "Just wait until you see what we have next year" that they can expand off of, and vertical progress makes for more compelling park updates (versus walls, clearing, and footer work).

That wouldn’t be without precedent for the company too. I remember KD’s former director of marketing saying in an interview that they purposely structured the construction of Twisted Timbers so that the barrel roll drop, at the highest and most visible point of the ride, was one of the first things they built. That way it would build hype and basically serve as free marketing. Would totally be a smart strategy for the spinner.

It may also make sense for them to build the tower first, since it’s the most out-into-the-parking-lot part of the ride, so if they can get it done before Memorial Day they can get the especially large crane out of there and have more parking lot ready for guest use.

I’m not sure why he’s entertaining this as an option, the park directly said they want to ensure that the ride will debut in spring, and this clearly won’t be ready spring 2026.
I don't think it's likely but it's at least possible, if the stars and shipping aligned, they could have the ride close to finished by early summer. So it's not totally out of the realm of possibility it "could" surprise and open early. I think that was their original plan before tariffs complicated the supply chain. Highly probable, though, the new ride comes together in fits and starts as tariff-affected shipping and fulfillment allows, and hopefully it's basically ready to go save for landscaping around Frightfest. I think there's a chance if they wanted to move heaven and earth to open it before the last day of the season in Nov/Dec (depending on if they do/don't holiday in the park). But why, if you could do a proper debut with the park opening the following spring? Their original intention surely was Ka closes after a celebratory sendoff 2025 season and the new ride opens in the spring or summer of 2026. Best laid plans and all that......

Supposedly, part of the reason SFMM's project got pushed to 2027 is because corporate didn't want them opening a new ride in the window between 2027 passes being on sale and 2026 passes still being valid as it would reduce the incentive to renew. If that is indeed the case, there's zero chance this ride opens before opening day 2027.

Secretly hoping that it's a cover up for something even dumber like "Aquaman: Waterspout of Justice" like Total Mayhem was for Joker years ago.

Maybe hints at a haunted boardwalk / lighthouse theme then? Assuming this ride is in fact apart of the boardwalk
I wonder if they got Sally to make another set of animatronics for this project.
